Because of having afflictions, for the sake of being completely free from afflictions and pure, therefore, the qualities of the stainless Buddha are: being completely in the state of afflicted ordinary beings, wisdom without differentiation, the state of existence where the Dharma nature is without prior or subsequent distinction is inconceivable, Asanga said this in the commentary. Because of the undifferentiated Dharma, for the sake of spontaneous accomplishment without conceptualization. That's how it is. That also refers to the fact that the nature of that meaning is the correct view, and when one sees that and is liberated from the sudden defilement of afflictions, like being covered by chaff, even though the manifestation of previously existing qualities is called enlightenment, it is not newly born. Therefore, in terms of the nature of the realm or essence, emptiness is characterized by the nature of distinguishing between defilements and faults, but it is not empty of the qualities that are inherently present. As it says there: Having the characteristic of distinction, the realm is empty of suddenness, having the characteristic of non-distinction, it is not empty of the supreme Dharma. And in its commentary it says: What does this show? Because in the Tathagatagarbha, which is completely pure by nature, there is no reason to remove the all-pervasive afflictions, because being free from sudden defilements is its nature. For this, there is no reason to establish purity, because the undifferentiated Dharma, the pure Dharma nature, is its nature. Therefore, the Tathagatagarbha is free from distinction and non-distinction, know that it is empty of all the bracts of afflictions, and not empty of the undifferentiated, inseparable, inconceivable qualities of the Buddha, exceeding the sands of the Ganges. It is said so. (As stated in the Garland Sutra. Note.) In this way, what is not in what place, that is emptiness, not seeing correctly accordingly, what remains there, that is always there, thus knowing as it is. These two verses are for the sake of being free from the extremes of addition and subtraction, showing the characteristic of non-inverted emptiness, it is said so.

How do the dharmas of samsara and the dharmas of nirvana exist in such a lineage? The dharmas of samsara are like clouds on the sun, having the relationship of obscurer and obscured. The dharmas of nirvana are like rays of light, having the same essence. For a while, in the realm of the basis, the dependent dharmas of samsara themselves are with defilements. When they are removed by the antidote, the dharmas of nirvana will manifest. One should understand it in this way. The dharmas of samsara are temporary, and the qualities are originally unconditioned. Even from that: Since faults are temporary, and qualities are inherently present, just as before, so it is later, it is the unchanging dharma nature. So it is said. Therefore, in the state of the lineage where the dharmadhatu is like the sky and does not change, for countless lifetimes, in the endless cycle of samsara, the way of abandoning and taking aggregates based on karma and habitual tendencies is: As it is said in that very text: Just as in all the worlds, the sky has birth and death, similarly, in the unconditioned realm, the senses also have birth and death. So it is said. Although the senses appear to arise and cease from karma and conditions, the element is without arising and ceasing, just like the fire of the eon burning the world, but it cannot burn the sky. As it is said in that very text: Just as the sky has never been burned by fires, similarly, it is not burned by the fire of death, old age, and sickness. So it is said. Thus, all birth, death, happiness, and suffering arise from karma and afflictions. And that arises from the mind's non-virtuous conceptualization, ignorance. Therefore, the state of mind relying on luminosity is like the world relying on the sky. Earth relies on water, water relies on wind, and wind relies on the sky. The sky does not rely on wind and water, nor does it rely on the element of earth. Similarly, the aggregates, elements, and sense bases rely on karma and afflictions. Karma and afflictions are not in accordance with the Dharma, and always rely on attention. Non-virtuous attention is completely based on the purity of the mind. The nature of the mind, the dharmas, does not abide in anything at all. So it is said. The qualities of nirvana are like the sun and rays of light, originally existing together. The qualities of appearance, such as body, rays of light, pure lands, and palaces, etc. And the qualities of awarenes
