All phenomena that appear are relative truths. Even if one has attained a ground, as long as the mind and mental factors have not ceased, the impure objects, such as forms and the appearances of the six consciousnesses, should be abandoned and relegated to the side of relative truth, and regarded as illusion. The characteristic of the ultimate truth is the nature that is free from the elaboration of grasping and being grasped. That is, from the point of view that it cannot be directly understood by sounds and words, it is not knowledge obtained from others, the confusion of mind and mental factors is pacified in the realm of phenomena, it transcends conceptual thought, is free from all elaborations, and is not touched by any philosophical system. As it says in the Root Wisdom: "Not known from others, peaceful, not elaborated by elaborations, without conceptual thought, meaning not different, that is its characteristic." That is, concepts such as same and different are the tenets of substantialists, and are not only ignorance, but also the statement that "being free from elaboration is Madhyamika" is not established. In short, the profound and peaceful Dharma of Nirvana, the realm of phenomena that is naturally pure, and the wisdom that realizes it, the wisdom of the Buddha that is free from all obscurations, appearing as a pure and unchanging object, and the wisdom of meditative equipoise of those who have attained a ground, the subsequent attainment in which meditative equipoise and its nature abide as one, appearing as the aspect of superior seeing, are all ultimate truth. If divided, there are two. As it says in the Root Wisdom: "The Buddhas teach the Dharma, relying on two truths, the worldly relative truth, and the truth of ultimate meaning." That is, in the face of a deluded mind, the appearance of various objects of knowledge is relative truth, while in the nature of non-delusion, abiding in a state beyond all thought and expression is divided as ultimate truth. As it says in the Entering the Middle Way: "By seeing real objects and inversion, one grasps the nature of real objects, whatever is the object of true seeing, that is it, false seeing is considered relative truth." That is, relative truth can also be divided into two: false relative truth that appears as the object of defective sense consciousnesses, and true relative truth that appears as the object of non-defective sense consciousnesses. The first refers to phenomena such as double moons and dreams, which appear in the minds of worldly people but are considered false, which even Madhyamikas do not deny, but exist merely as a name for expressing cognition.

It is established as conventional truth, like the appearance of a single moon, which also appears in the minds of worldly people and is considered true. Here, it is also established as the pure conventional truth. From this very source: Whatever becomes the object of the six unimpaired senses, in relation to the world, is also true in the world, and the rest is established as reversed in the world. Thus, just as hair appears in a confused mind, but nothing is seen in a clear eye, so too, various things appear in a confused mind. For the samadhi of the noble ones and the Buddha who has exhausted confusion, there is nothing to be taken as an object of focus. Therefore, it is believed that the current confused appearances, which are self-contained and have parts, do not appear. From the same source: Just as, by the power of cataracts, one imagines hairs and other distorted objects, one should understand here that whatever is seen by the self-nature of a clear eye is the same. Thus, the emanations that appear from the merit of those to be tamed and the blessings of the Buddha accomplish the purpose, just as in a dream, without falling asleep, emanations are sent forth, and when teaching the Dharma and other things are done in accordance with one's own appearances, the dreams in the appearances of those to be tamed also appear without ceasing. When one knows that they actually appear to them, one does not have dreams oneself, because one has not fallen asleep. In the same way, although one knows that confused appearances arise in sentient beings and acts accordingly, the Buddha himself does not have the slightest confused appearance. The distinction here is made in relation to characteristics, and it is believed that it transcends distinction in its own nature, because it is emptiness. That emptiness, which is the realm of appearances, is explained in the Commentary on the Awakening Mind: Conventional truth is explained as emptiness, emptiness alone is conventional truth, like actions and impermanence, because without it, it cannot arise. Thus, if the distinction is established as other, it becomes inverted, as stated in the Sutra Unraveling the Intent: The realm of formations and the characteristics of ultimate meaning are the characteristics of being apart from one and other. Whoever thinks of them as one and other has entered into a non-reasoned view. Thus, the fourth, the determination of number, is determined as contradictory to being liberated or not liberated from elaboration, so the three aggregates of the affirming and negating sides are excluded, and therefore the number is determined as two. In another way, the objects
