is pure. Seeing falsely and the mind being confused is due to the obscuration of the eyes by the habitual tendencies of ignorance of ordinary beings, just as clinging to cataracts and falling hair as real. The various sufferings and pleasures that appear in the abodes and enjoyments of the six realms are confused, and are the appearances of the grasper and the grasped that arise in dependence on dependent origination. And, in the subsequent attainment after attaining the ground, the appearances of the environment and beings, etc., that appear in common with others. The mere appearance of sense direct perception and inference that infers fire, etc., are the two types of minds that appear in relation to measuring the appearance of the conventional. Moreover, the sense faculties such as the eye are either pure or defective, and from these two, two types of conventional are established, as it says in the same text: "False seeing has two aspects: clear sense faculties and defective sense faculties. The consciousnesses of the defective sense faculties are considered to be inverted in relation to those with clear sense faculties." So it is said. Secondly, the way of dividing into two truths has two aspects: the nature to be known and the way of practicing after knowing. The first has six aspects: basis, definition, division, definite number, etymology, and valid cognition that determines. First, there is no common basis or definition of division, but in the minds of worldly people, there is only a truth that is merely a reversal from what is not true, as it says in the commentary on the Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning: "The establishment of the two truths is established in relation to the minds of worldly people." Or, only the absence of inherent existence should be taken as the basis of division, as it says in the Entering the Middle Way: "Since both of the two truths lack inherent existence, these are neither permanent nor annihilated." So it is said. The basis of the conventional truth is the appearances of the six consciousnesses together with their objects. Among these, the way in which the Middle Way School enters into the six consciousnesses is the same as that of the Hearers. The ultimate truth is considered to be the pure essence of the nature of reality as the basis. There are two aspects to the definition, the definition of the conventional is the appearance of grasping and being grasped with elaboration. That is, it arises in the form of obscuration, as it says in the same text: "Since ignorance obscures its own nature, it is conventional. Therefore, the Buddha said that what is deceived by it and appears as true is the conventional truth." So it is said. That is, the Dharma of Samsara, mind and mental factors, object.
