Mas. Gods decline through fighting and strife with non-gods. Gods decline through negligence. In samsara, which is like the tip of a needle, there is never any happiness. Thus it is said. All phenomena encompassed by appearance and existence, vessel and essence, samsara and nirvana, are selfless, because they are without inherent existence. The Commentary on the Bodhicitta says: "The nature of fire is heat, the nature of molasses is sweetness, likewise, the nature of all phenomena is said to be emptiness." Thus it is said. Nirvana is cessation and peace. In the Collection of Special Exhortations, it says: "Therefore, peace is bliss." And in the Tale of Birth in an Iron House, it says: "They did not even hear the doctrine that goes to the peace of nirvana." Thus it is said. These are explained in detail in all vehicles. The excellent distinctions of each vehicle are twofold: the vehicle of causality and the vehicle of result, Secret Mantra. The first also has two divisions: the general division of philosophical tenets and the specific division of how to traverse the path. The first has two vehicles: the Lesser Vehicle and the Greater Vehicle. If the rough tenets are divided in the Lesser Vehicle, there are three: The Sravaka Sthavira School. In the past, when the Buddha passed into nirvana, a naked teacher came, and he ordained him with "Come here," and he became a Sravaka. He asked whether the self of the person is one with the aggregates, or different, or both, or neither. He answered without saying anything, but understood that there is something that cannot be expressed. Although he entered this Dharma, his view was mixed with that of the heretics, so he accepted a self that cannot be expressed. According to their texts, the agent of all virtuous and non-virtuous actions, and the eater of the desired and undesired fruits of his own actions, is the self-nature that abandons the former aggregates and takes the latter. However, that self is not permanent, because it abandons the former birth and takes the latter. It is also not impermanent, because the self of this life has already enjoyed the actions he has done, and the self of the future will enjoy the fruits of the actions he has not done. Because those two also become one self, it is said that the fruit of the action has been completely enjoyed, so the fruit has been exhausted, and it is said that it will be enjoyed, so it has not been eaten. Because the eater or the enjoyer is one self, it is also not impermanent.

Therefore, it is desired to be so. Therefore, I declare that the self exists in the nature of a person who cannot be said to be either permanent or impermanent. This statement is not good, because if permanence is negated, there is no way to establish impermanence; and negating impermanence also depends on establishing permanence; and how could a situation exist that is neither permanent nor impermanent? Therefore, this is completely unreasonable. The Vaibhashika school of the Hinayana tradition asserts five bases of knowable objects that are distinct entities. These are the form aggregate, the mind aggregate, the mental factors aggregate, non-associated compositional factors, and unconditioned phenomena. The first is visible and obstructive form, which is the indivisible atom of earth, water, fire, and wind, a real entity of ultimate truth, gathered in a surrounding with intervals, from which gross things are established. Invisible but obstructive forms are the five sense organs: eye, ear, nose, tongue, and body, as well as sound, smell, taste, and touch. Invisible and non-obstructive form is that which pervades the entire body, existing like a fire spreading through a forest, and is included in vows, non-vows, and intermediaries. These atoms in the external environment are the four great elements, plus the four atoms of color, smell, taste, and touch, totaling eight gathered together. The body's sense organ has these eight, plus its own atom, totaling nine. The eye organ and other organs, on the basis of the previous nine, plus their own atoms such as the eye, total ten. These atoms are destroyed by external forces, or analyzed and eliminated by wisdom, but the thought of clinging to the atom does not disappear, and it abides in the true nature of ultimate truth, so it is a real entity of ultimate truth. Gross things are destroyed by external forces, or divided into parts, so the thought of clinging to it disappears, and it has the true nature of conventional truth. Therefore, it is a real entity of conventional truth, as stated in the Abhidharmakosha: 'Whatever is destroyed, or analyzed by wisdom, and the thought of clinging to it does not arise after elimination, like a pot and water, is conventional truth. Existence and non-existence are ultimate truth, and others are not.' The basis of mind is the six consciousnesses: eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind consciousness. When the five sense organs see the five objects, the five consciousnesses will know these objects, and the mind consciousness can determine the past, future, and the distinctions of things, and so on. Consciousness can see things.
