It should be recognized that this is an illusion. Second, in order to manifest the uncommon and supreme signs, there are three points: First, mastering the preliminaries, generally showing the signs of body, speech, and mind; second, mastering the main practice, specifically explaining the signs of clear light; and third, grasping the measure of the path by describing other differences in signs. The first point has three aspects. Leading the three bodies, the signs of mastering the preliminaries of the sound and meaning of the four elements are: From the burning body: "Whoever is familiar with the sounds of the elements, and who is accustomed to the sounds of the six realms, will not be harmed by the elements, nor will they be burned by fire, nor will they be drowned or carried away by water, without their feet touching the ground, they will be able to walk in the sky, and they will not be chilled or moved by the wind. When this happens to someone, it means they are familiar with the sounds of the four elements." So it is said. Leading the mind, the measure of mastering the preliminaries of body, speech, and mind is: From there: "Whoever knows the sounds of sentient beings, visible and invisible, because they do not take the form of the six realms, they know the sounds of the six realms. Because the mind stream of the six realms is self-cut off, they know all the thoughts of their minds. Because delusion and thoughts have been exhausted, in short, six kinds of clairvoyance will arise, and the appearance of the six realms of beings, returning from their own nature, is the meaning of cutting off the future stream of birth. In this way, after this person cuts off, all these self-signs will appear." So it is said. Leading awareness, the sign of distinguishing between samsara and nirvana is: Again, from there: "Distinguishing between samsara and nirvana, the preliminaries are body, speech, and mind, and when one is accustomed to behavior, these signs will appear on the body. The attachment to the body itself returns, because the continuation of attachment to delusion is cut off, so there is no attachment to one's own body. One can walk in the sky, and also enter the earth. One knows the meanings of what can be thought and what cannot be thought. One can also speak Dharma from the mouth. In this way, the person in whom this happens, with body, speech, and mind, is liberated from the bonds of the realization of samsara, from all that binds them. Afterwards, the connection between body, speech, and mind is severed." So it is said. The second meaning, specifically explaining the signs of the main practice, has two parts: the general presentation of the common signs of view and meditation, and the specific explanation of the signs of direct clear light. The first is:

Because of mastering the view that is liberated to the extreme, like the sky, one is able to travel in the sky and circle the Jambudvipa in an instant, and when looking at objects, one is able to melt them. Because of mastering the meditation of natural clarity, wondrous signs of body, speech, and mind will appear. From the burning of the body, it is seen that: For the view, this is a sign of habituation. For a fortunate individual, this will also occur in this way. Because emptiness expands the body and mind, like a dakini in the sky, in order to have control over the wind, like the wind, in six hundred instants, one is able to travel throughout Jambudvipa. Because one realizes that one's own mind is emptiness, one is able to melt whatever one looks at. Through this, one gains great confidence in the view. This is a sign of mastering meditation: there are no insects or living beings on the body. Because compassion and benefiting others are perfected, and because thoughts and the stream of mind are empty, the body is as light as cotton. Because wisdom is immortal and meaningful, the body becomes like that of a sixteen-year-old. Because the moisture of dharmata pervades the mind, the hair and other parts of the body are oily. In this way, the mind does not wander, but stays where it is placed, and is unable to enter into deluded states. Through this, one attains self-realization of meditation, and attains Buddhahood in two lifetimes. So it is said. This is also a definite sign for those who have minds focused on objects. Secondly, the signs of manifest luminosity are explained in detail in five parts: light, space, bindu, body, and the signs of wisdom reaching its limit are explained. First, light has five parts: essence, definition, division, characteristics, and result. The essence of light is the radiance of wisdom. The definition is: because it appears and is clear, it is light. The division is: the light that holds its own characteristics, the self-radiance of the five wisdoms; and the light of experience, the habituated light, the experience that increases from the manifest, reaching the peak, these are the two types. The characteristic is: it is self-illuminating, not relying on other illuminators. The result is: it becomes a cause for attaining Buddhahood in the inconceivable state of the dharmadhatu. Like that, by habituating to the light, the deluded appearance is liberated into luminosity, and special signs of body and speech appear. From the burning of the body, it is seen that: Who has habituated to the light? In the realm of experience seen by oneself.
