Ah! Hoping to come from elsewhere is the delusion of hope. For the unborn, mind-free awareness, To indicate with words and letters is truly laughable. Thus it is said. From the absence of letters, Not made, where is the maker? Not modified, there is no owner of modification. Not seeing, separated from the dharma of seeing. Not seeing, the seer is clear. Not appearing, separated from the aspect of appearance. Not writing, unobstructed, pervading the ten directions. Not striving, separated from the dharma of striving and accomplishing. Not alone, separated from the dharma of multiplicity. Without inside and outside, clear without inside and outside. Thus it is said. In the common secret of illusion, it is also said: Ema! Wonderful and amazing dharma, Is the secret of all complete Buddhas. From the unborn, everything arises, Just arising, it is unborn. Ema! Wonderful and amazing dharma, Is the secret of all complete Buddhas. From the un-abiding, everything abides, Just abiding, it is un-abiding. Ema! Wonderful and amazing dharma, Is the secret of all complete Buddhas. From the absence of going and coming, there is going and coming, At the time of going and coming, there is no going and coming. Thus it is said. In the Sutra of the Jewel Heap Dharani, it is also said: The Tathagata is always the unborn dharma, All dharmas are the same as the Sugata. Those with childish minds, grasping at signs, In the world, practice dharmas that do not exist. Thus it is said. In the Samadhiraja Sutra, it is also said: When this world realm arises, Having arisen, it is destroyed and abides in emptiness, How it was before, so it will be later, Know all dharmas in this way. Thus it is said. In the Holy Jewel Heap Sutra, it is said: Ignorance is like the sky, All dharmas are without characteristics. Without support, without dwelling, without taking, Know it completely as like an illusion. Thus it is said. In the Guhyasamaja, it is said: These things are unborn, Without dharma and dharmata, Like the sky, without self, This is the way of teaching enlightenment. Thus it is widely spoken. Second, deciding that one's own mind, which is inseparable from liberation and bondage, is emptiness, the great rootlessness, is divided into two: general teaching through examining the three places of arising, dwelling, and going; and determining specifically through examining one and other. The first is: although the nature's end is liberated like the sky, the self

If you don't examine within, you'll be stuck in the presumption of 'it is so,' leading to emptiness meditation like a dark stone. Because you can't thoroughly and nakedly realize, you can't distinguish the boundaries of samsara and nirvana. In order for realization to manifest as definite understanding, you need the wisdom of individual examination. Although there are no letters, the nature of awareness pervades everything, but as it is said, 'Dharmakaya lies in pith instructions.' Therefore, here, to realize through the guru's pith instructions, there are three points: examine the place of arising and the ariser, examine the place of abiding and the abider, and examine the place of going and the goer. The first point is divided into two parts: the place of arising appears as various external objects, and the inner aggregates appear as form. When the mind arises in either of these two, if it arises externally, it is an external object; if it arises internally, it is the inner body. Divide things into fragments and examine them down to indivisible particles. When you see that the appearing realm of the place of arising does not exist, and recognize that the mind does not arise from there, then you decisively conclude that the conceptual thought of grasping the grasped as an object is rootless and baseless. The ariser, if the momentary consciousness arises from itself, then the momentary consciousness becomes two entities. Since it has already been examined that it does not arise from anything other than itself, now consider, does this place of arising arise spontaneously? Examine whether it has color, shape, sign, characteristic, size, direction, etc. The result is that there is nothing. Merely a mental examination turns into a rootless, clear, primordially pure state. At this time, you realize that the conceptual thought of grasping the inner is rootless like the sky. When the grasped and grasper that appear as dharma and dharmata become objectless and baseless, then at that time, you realize that the mind has always been unborn, and today you realize it, thereby comprehending the meaning of the great freedom from elaboration of the Dharmakaya. Second, the place of abiding and the abider in the middle; third, the place of going and the goer at the end, also break down and examine them in the same way. Thus, you touch the intent of the Sambhogakaya's self-illuminating great light and the Nirmanakaya's self-liberating self-arising. The meaning of inner and outer objectlessness, awareness without support, grasped and grasper without basis, and intention without interruption and equality, is integrated into the heart. Without cultivation, like a flowing river, meditation self-liberates, and great equality naturally arises from the heart. As the Ornament of Clear Realization says: 'The mind's initial place of arising, the intermediate place of abiding, the final place of going, thus, through examination and analysis of these three, the mind is tamed, the mind's nature.'
