By holding the mind without dwelling on comings and goings, the experience of non-conceptual clarity arises. The body transforms into a rainbow-like aura of five-colored light, without scattering, without confusion, without breaking, without moving. By holding the mind without distraction, the experience of pure, clear light arises. Throwing the wind-mind into the expanse of the sky, visualize a letter, a ball of light, or a mandala of the sun and moon, higher and higher, until finally it dissolves into space and becomes invisible. By holding the mind in this state, the experience of emptiness, free from thought, arises. Focusing the mind on the ear and remaining still, the experience of sound meditation arises. Visualizing a tiny deity form within the heart, the experience of pure, clear light arises, accomplishing the clear light of the bardo, and causing relics, rainbows, and lights of the deity's form to appear. Third, the sevenfold teaching on seeing the nature of reality: Holding the mind on emptiness in stages: First, analyze the many parts of the body, examining them with various names. Even the head alone is analyzed with various names. When the meaning of that name is examined, and the meaning becomes particles, search for where the name is. When it is not found, at that time, the emptiness in which no thought flows in the mind completely dawns. Without searching, without anger, without memory or thought, remaining still, the experience of non-dual emptiness arises. Apply this to all appearances, just as the body is. Holding the mind on emptiness all at once: Whatever appears, look at it intently, thinking that it becomes empty and clear. By practicing this with all appearances, such as visual appearances and sound appearances, the experience arises that all appearances are like fogging a mirror. Holding the mind on impermanence means training in appearances without reliance. Whatever appears is without reliance, without truth, appearing in various ways, therefore it is not true, because it changes without limit, therefore it is impermanent. By training in this way, the experience of being free from grasping arises. Whatever appears of the five elements, place awareness gently and broadly upon it, without distraction. The experience of liberation in that place of placement arises, like a dream. Holding the mind on non-conceptuality means that whatever appears, however awareness changes, the continuum of moments is uninterrupted, originally abiding in non-conceptuality. Recognizing this and training to merge into it, the great meditation of non-conceptual self-abiding arises. Holding the mind on union: When dualistic appearances arise, grasping at duality arises. Focus intently on that itself.

Therefore, the experience of great bliss, the self-purified and non-dual, arises, and by taking the bliss of the father and mother as the path, the experience of bliss and emptiness, non-dual, also arises. Taking the intermediate space as the path means meditating on awareness fading away into the intermediate space, meditating on all appearances and mind being still in the realm of the sky, without relying on anything, and meditating on the sky and all phenomena being equal, thereby giving rise to the experience of great emptiness, free from extremes. The meaning of these is also stated in "Union of Sun and Moon": By focusing the mind on the letter A (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:无), attachment to objects naturally subsides. By focusing the mind on the deity of the generation stage, the impurities of the body are purified. With the vajra song of speech, the mind is satisfied. By focusing the mind on the letter Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), the impurities of speech are eliminated. Whoever holds the mind on Raṃ (藏文:རཾ,梵文天城体:रं,梵文罗马拟音:raṃ,汉语字面意思:让), purifies all things. Whoever abides in the letter Ha (藏文:ཧ,梵文天城体:ह,梵文罗马拟音:ha,汉语字面意思:哈), exhausts all delusion. Whoever places the mind on Phaṭ (藏文:ཕཊ,梵文天城体:फट,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:啪), dispels harm to body and speech. Whoever meditates on the drop at the eyebrow center becomes accustomed to the winds. Whoever holds the mind on the material of the wooden staff blocks the doors of the senses. Whoever becomes accustomed to the tip of the nose gathers the increasing elements back to their place. Whoever meditates on the self-radiance of the body becomes accustomed to the ground of the bardo. Whoever throws the mind into the sky becomes accustomed to emptiness. Whoever holds the mind in the ear enjoys sounds as desired. Whoever holds the mind in the heart purifies thoughts naturally. Whoever abides in emptiness stops attachment to objects. Whoever meditates on emptiness as Hadapo (Tibetan transliteration, a state) empties all memories at once. Whoever trains the impermanent mind reverses attachment to samsara. Whoever holds the mind on the five elements causes the signs of the body to arise. Whoever meditates on non-conceptual wisdom stops attachment to signs. Whoever meditates on the bliss of two entries makes desire the path. Whoever makes the intermediate space the path also gains power over the mind. Thus it is said. In addition to these, there are also methods for holding the mind on the objects of appearance, the five: form, sound, smell, taste, and touch. In the "Destruction Treatise" it says: Eye, form, sound, smell, taste, and touch, practice the places of the five desires, form is colors, shapes, etc., differences in crafts and arts, and various things such as optical illusions. Sound is the lute.
