Thus it is said. The essence of awareness is that the four wisdoms naturally arise, thereby symbolizing the state of realization of insight. The four wisdoms are: From Rangshar: Moreover, the essence of awareness, Possesses four aspects of wisdom, The four aspects of wisdom are as follows: The wisdom of complete liberation, Liberates all beings, Liberates to the pure realm of afflictions, Liberates to the state of non-conceptual and unborn, Liberates to the realm of ignorance and awareness, Wisdom liberates to the state of non-conceptualization, Therefore, it is the wisdom of liberation. The wisdom of complete activity, Enables the five bodies to act in the realm of primordial purity, Enables the five lights to act in the realm of non-attachment, Enables awareness and wisdom to act in the realm, Enables the lamp to act in the realm of space, Therefore, it is the wisdom of activity. The wisdom of complete gathering, Gathers the elements into the five lights, Gathers space into the lamp, Gathers the five bodies into the state of awareness, Gathers awareness into non-conceptualization, Therefore, it is the wisdom of gathering. The wisdom of complete differentiation, Differentiates between ignorance and awareness, Differentiates between afflictions and wisdom, Differentiates between purity and impurity, Differentiates between samsara and nirvana, Differentiates between realization and non-realization, Differentiates between good and bad, Therefore, it is the wisdom of differentiation. Thus it is said. Secondly, the mind and habitual tendencies, the thoughts to be purified, are purified at that time. Its symbolic example is: From "Vajrasattva's Mirror of the Heart": Ah Ho, Vajra Holder, listen! The unripened conceptual thoughts of samsara, Are like a magnet attracting iron. If not liberated, the time of liberation will not come. Ignorance is like a magnet, it cannot be liberated. Ignorance is like water, accumulating afflictions. The fire of hatred is like the flames at the end of an eon. Desire is like drinking salty water, no matter how much you drink. The darkness of delusion is like the darkness of an empty room. The arrogance of pride is like destroying a mountain. The harmful mind of jealousy is like a narrow ravine. The five afflictions obscure wisdom. The mind is like a female dog, like a thief. Consciousness is like a monkey in the forest. The mind is like an impure mud puddle. The alaya-consciousness is like a pig among sentient beings. Awareness is like a feather carried by the wind. Grasping and being grasped are like a man and a woman.

The distinctions of karma are like tangled bird snares. The distinctions of suffering are like ripples in water. There is no way to endure the fruits of affliction. This suffering of samsara, the stake of grasping and fixation, cannot be escaped by doing, but is escaped by letting go. If you abandon all actions, you will achieve leisure. Abandon all thoughts, and supreme wisdom will not waver. The king of secret mantras transforms afflictions into wisdom, like raising a lamp in an empty room. The lamp of wisdom transforms ignorance into knowledge. Thus it is said. Third, the essential points on how to separate from that have three aspects: the actual way to separate at the manifest time, establishing the reason for separation, and stating other terms. First: By looking at the clear light of outer appearances, without confusion, when the meditation of inner self-clarity is clear in its own place, mind and wisdom momentarily turn their backs, and the alaya consciousness, together with the eight aggregates, is obscured by wisdom, so the phenomena of samsara are not clear. What has passed is spontaneously accomplished in its own nature. From the mirror of the mind of Kuntuzangpo, it is said: "Awareness separated from mind is the actual Buddha. Wisdom separated from thought is the actual intention. Radiance separated from obscurations is the actual pure appearance." And from Rangshar: "Awareness separated from mind is the actual Buddha. I, Vajrasattva, am separated from thought. Know that the clarifying appearance is without concept. Non-conceptual wisdom is equality itself. It is the great self-liberation." Thus it is said. Second, the reason is: By remaining unmoving in the state of appearance, the phenomena of samsara are self-liberated, just as when water does not move, the turbidity clears itself. The example of a clear water jewel represents the unfathomable depth of intention. From the former: "This drop of self-born nectar is like a clear water jewel. If placed in turbidity, the turbidity clears itself. Likewise, this essential instruction of the heart, if planted, will not be stained by afflictions." Thus it is said. In solitude and stillness, appearances arise as companions. In the unborn realm, the clear light of wisdom exists in everyone, but is not seen by everyone. It is inconceivable, like the realm of space. Clear and radiant, like the light of the sun. Unchanging, like Mount Meru. Deep and unfathomable, like the depths of the ocean. Unstained, like a lotus in the mud. Unidentifiable, like the moon in water. Appearing as anything, like the magic of the sky.
