None. The five elements themselves are the realm of the mother. There is not a single sentient being that is not made up of the five elements. The elements of the sentient beings who abide therein are shown to be of two types. Thus it is. Secondly, there are two ways to explain the nature of each in detail: explaining the external elements in detail and explaining the internal elements in detail. The first has ten aspects: essence, definition, purpose, characteristics, order, nature, meaning, method of liberation, classification, and completeness. First, the essence is that the external elements appear as form, which is the play of the internal elements. Because it is included in the internal, it is the five elements. As it says in Rangshar: The external elements are as follows: earth, water, fire, and also wind and space. Thus, the five external forms are the appearance of the vessel world that supports sentient beings, while the five internal realities are the support of mind and awareness. As it says in Thalgyur: The intention of the elements is as follows: From the differences of common karma, sentient beings rely on the external elements with the basis of their karma, desiring to perfect actions, nourishment, senses, retinue, and birth. Thus it is. Second, the definition is as follows. As it says in Rangshar: The definition of the elements is as follows: Not made by action, spontaneously accomplished. Because it causes to be born, it is an element. Because it pervades all that moves, it is a great element. Because it is born all at once, it is a great element. Because it exists in itself, it is a great element. Because it is unchanging, it is a great element. Because it appears harmoniously, it is a great element. The definition of the great element is just like that. Thus it is. Third, the purpose is as follows. As it says in Thalgyur: The purpose of the elements is as follows: Water gathers the essence and separates the dross. Because it acts in each body, it knows the necessity of hot and cold. Earth holds the foundation and accomplishes the tasks of formation and construction. Because it ripens, it produces roots and so on. It knows the necessity of conventional bindus. Fire propagates the elements and accomplishes the tasks of ripening and clarifying. Because it blazes and spreads, it produces eyes and so on. It knows the necessity of warmth. Wind destroys and lifts, and accomplishes the tasks of moving and shaking. Because it moves and interweaves, it holds the body and knows the necessity of the mind's dwelling. The wheel of the four elements
