Without blocking the doors of the senses, Physical actions should not be contrived. Sleep should not be abandoned either, The mind should not be isolated. In short, body and speech each at ease, The scattered parts of mind not lost outward. Even with the six objects of the senses, The mind, acting with awareness, does not waver. In the great expanse of self-appearing non-thought, Experience arises, clear and without concepts. In the samadhi of a great downpour, The body is like that of an ordinary person, Speech is free from words and expression, The mind is not tightly bound, Unwavering in the naturally arising state. The samadhi of increasing appearances is, With body, objects, and awareness, Grasping the measure of self-appearing purity. Thus it is said. Third, cultivating the view beyond mind has four aspects: the view of resting like a mountain king, the intention of resting like an ocean king, the pith instructions of resting awareness, and the methods of resting appearances. First: Having recognized this self-luminous awareness, whatever arises, rest in a state as immovable as the king of mountains. From the absence of letters: The view of resting like a mountain king is secret. Not doubt, naturally without change. Thus it is said. Second: The body in vajra posture, eyes half-open, gazing into space, awareness and clarity like an ocean unmoved by waves, resting in a clear and lucid state. From that same source: The intention of resting like an ocean king is, Not appearance, nor causing to appear. Not emptiness, nor existing in emptiness. Not clarity, but the realm of great clarity. Not dullness, naturally without agitation. Not moving, not shifting, not changing, Not acting, not operating, beyond all actions. Not arising from effort, behold the great method of resting. Without expanding or contracting, resting in a state of oneness. Not abiding, nor transcending it. In the ocean-like secret wisdom, Primordially spontaneous, rest in the unwavering expanse. From the great ocean of unfathomable depth, Behold the summit of the victory banner that never sinks. The mind without emptiness, the great body without contrivance. Because there is no contrivance, it overcomes all actions. Primordially unarisen, the uncontrived resting itself. Unchanged by appearances, uncontrived by mind. Abiding in the dharmata sky, it is shown as the view. The wisdom of the dharmakaya, having completely abandoned thought, Without movement, it is the intention of meditation. Not grasping at any direction of appearing objects, The ocean

Like stars shining in the depths of space, without clinging to objects, clarity unceasing, this is the way of abiding in natural wisdom. Thus it is said. Third, when the naked awareness-emptiness wisdom arises, recognizing it as 'phyara ra' self-luminous, cutting off the pitfalls of meditative clinging, the transparent naked Dharmakaya arises from within. As the 'Lion's Complete Strength' says: 'When self-awareness looks outward at various objects, within, one finds the great non-conceptual Dharmakaya.' Thus it is said. Fourth, when the five external appearances are viewed individually, the inner self-luminous nakedness arises clearly from within, and one abides in that state. As it says in the same text: 'When clear awareness of Dharmata looks outward at objects, within, one sees awareness free from variety.' And as the 'Wordless Letter' says: 'The great method of focusing on appearances with awareness is not the basis of all great appearances. The five elements appear as the path of the Buddhas. The five great ones themselves are clear as the appearance of the Mother. Without distraction, rest in the great non-clinging state.' Thus it is said. Third, there are three ways to establish the three key points of the Dharmata wheel in the great clear space equal to the sky: The key point of Dharmata being free from effort is the instruction to settle the mind itself in non-action. The key point of Dharmata being self-bestowed is the instruction to transform conceptual thoughts into wisdom. The key point of Dharmata being self-liberated is the instruction to have no acceptance or rejection of appearances. First, the nature is free from action; if one acts, one will not realize it; if one does not act, one will realize it; therefore, the three doors are settled naturally. As the 'Transcendence' says: 'Furthermore, the nature of non-action is liberated by non-action.' And as the 'Great Garuda Soaring in the Sky' says: 'Therefore, samsara and nirvana are free from action; what else is there to do besides Dzogchen itself?' And as the 'Six Contemplations' says: 'The basis is established by being free from action.' Thus it is said. Second, appearances are recognized as the play of the mind, the play is recognized as the groundless clear appearance, if the clear appearance is grasped, it is recognized as delusion, if it is not grasped, it is recognized as self-luminous non-appearance, thus it is certain that external objects are not different from the mind, and the realm of rebirth in samsara is emptied. Again, the mind that grasps appearances is recognized as groundless, the groundlessness is recognized as the self-nature of emptiness, the self-nature is recognized as the primordial liberation without trace, thus the mind that wanders in samsara is liberated in the groundlessness, and the three realms are all nameless.
