It arises. The great elements of earth, water, fire, wind, and space, all arise from that. From this, the nature of reality that abides thus is without delusion from the very beginning. The Dharmakaya is like the sky, suddenly obscured by the clouds of sentient beings. Even the nature of reality that abides without delusion appears to the mind as a state of delusion. Thus, the five afflictions of sentient beings are not truly existent. Like clouds in the sky, they are merely accompanied by sudden causes and conditions. Those clouds arise from the sky itself. Likewise, knowing that they dissolve into the sky, it is called the state of indivisible oneness. Likewise, if one knows that the defilements of afflictions are self-arisen and self-pacified, how could sentient beings be bound? As appearances are unestablished, although they appear to be grasped, they are not established anywhere. Therefore, it is also taught as the great unattached. Also, as said in the Heap of Jewels: This mind-essence without a dwelling place, Has nowhere to go, ya re cha! The six consciousnesses that enter everywhere, Have no place to rely on, ya re cha! The all-gathering alaya, Has no place to put, ya re cha! The ignorance that wanders and deludes, Has no power to change, ya re cha! All object-clinging afflictions, Have no root, ya re cha! Subtle and coarse defilements, Have no place to accumulate, ya re cha! Coarse elemental forms, Have no place to attach to, ya re cha! The life force on which the person relies, Has no fixed time, ya re cha! The appearances of the six aggregates' objects, Are not permanent, ya re cha! The person's memory, thought, arising, and feeling, Are inexhaustible, ya re cha! Furthermore: This nature of reality without a root, Is wonderfully amazing by resting without searching! The awareness that goes and comes, Is wonderfully amazing without end! The wisdom of the great primordial abiding, Is wonderfully amazing without an antidote! Also, in the common vehicle, the Noble King of Samadhi Sutra: Just as in the sky, slightly without clouds, In an instant, a circle of clouds appears. Having arisen and perished, that circle of clouds, Examine from where it first arose. All phenomena should be known in the same way. Just as impure beings dwell in the midst of rocky mountains, From singing, speaking, laughing, and crying, Although echoes arise dependent on conditions, The melody from the sound never moves. All phenomena should be known in the same way. Thus, it is extensively taught.

Om Swasti. Secondly, regarding the meaning of the exhaustion of phenomena and transcendence of mind, the introduction to the naked awareness, free from change, is threefold: introducing the naked awareness of the exhaustion of phenomena and transcendence of mind; cultivating the self-luminous, naturally abiding intention into vast expanse; and establishing the three essential points, the wheel of Dharma-nature, in the vast expanse of space-like clarity. The first is: leaving the naturally arising awareness nakedly in its own clarity, without projecting outwards, without gathering inwards, and without thinking in between, by looking at one's own face, there is no outer, inner, or middle; self-luminous and naked; the Dharmakaya uncorrupted by view and meditation; the wisdom unmoved by conceptual thoughts; the intention unmade by projection and gathering; clear without thought, abiding without grasping, vast without being lost in distraction, equal without interval, the great self-purity without a maker, the great intention of original self-arising, clear and limpid like the ocean, bright and pure like the sun and moon, vast and expansive like the sky, stable and abiding like the king of mountains. Such a meaning, all sentient beings have never been separated from for even a moment, and it has always been within themselves, but because they do not recognize it, they are deluded in samsara by the proliferation of negative thoughts. Now, having recognized it through the guru's instructions, whether appearing, abiding, or moving, at any time, one should remain undistracted, just as one has been introduced to the nature of self-arising, naturally resting. As it is said in "The Lion's Perfection": Emaho! The lion's path without travel! The lion without effort, on the white glacier without acceptance or rejection, perfects the three powers of dispelling darkness. The lion of thoughtless clarity, on the excellent glacier of primordial purity, perfects the three powers of dispelling the elements. And as it is said in "The Six Spaces": In the mind-essence without permanence or annihilation, the appearances free from good and bad are, the intention free from acceptance and rejection, thus I, Kuntuzangpo, have taught. In the mind-essence without acceptance or rejection, the appearances of self-liberation without bias are, the intention of vast expanse, thus I, Kuntuzangpo, have taught. In the mind-essence without sinking or rising, the meditation of great equanimity is, the intention of the six aggregates being relaxed, thus I, Kuntuzangpo, have taught. In the mind-essence without fear, the appearances free from hope and fear are, the intention of original abiding with confidence, thus I, Kuntuzangpo, have taught. And as it is said in "Perfection": Grap
