I do not look. When self-nature is liberated by self-nature, I do not look at samsara and nirvana. When Dharma is liberated by Dharma, I do not look at conventional words. When mind-essence is liberated by mind-essence, I do not look at the indicative intellect. Thus it is said. In the Six Spaces it says: In the mind-essence where the six aggregates appear, the clusters of conceptual thoughts subside in their own place. In the mind-essence where sound and words appear, the terms and names subside in their own place. In the mind-essence where grossness appears, the conditions of the four elements subside in their own place. In the mind-essence where grasping and being grasped appear, the clinging to self that binds is completely pacified. In the mind-essence where existence appears, the things of phenomena subside in their own place. In the mind-essence where non-existence appears, all the emptinesses subside in their own place. In the mind-essence of existence and non-existence, the established philosophical tenets subside in their own place. In the mind-essence where Dharma appears, its own characteristics are completely pacified. In the mind-essence where no Dharma appears, all delusions subside in their own place. Thus it is said. Secondly, regarding meditation, the yoga that is practiced continuously has four aspects: the meditation of uniting day and night, the means of pouring out the ocean of instructions, the view of the nature of reality that establishes the basis of existence and appearance, and the result of afflictions arising and ceasing on their own. The first has three aspects: In the union of sun and moon it says: Meditation is of three types: the meditation of the mind of gods and others, the samadhi of the Great Vehicle, and the intention of all Buddhas of the three times. Thus it is said. In the Overturn it says: That which arises naturally from inherent nature, should be spoken of as true samadhi. Channels, winds, bindus, essential body points, eyes, and emptiness, are what is desired as meditation. Letters, light, colors, and the expansion and contraction of various confusions, are said to be samadhi. The unaltered, self-abiding reality, how it does not change from that, is the intention of all the Buddhas. Thus it is said. Among these, the first, the meditation of gods and humans, is the twenty-one holdings of the mind, in which it says: With the twenty-one stages of mind-holding, first, abide in the place, second, separate body and mind, third, see the nature of reality. At this time, the essential points of body, speech, and mind, the one endowed with yoga should settle down. The moving wind is like a horse, burning, throwing, and gathering, with the three essential points skillfully practiced, the continuous stream of mental thoughts is cut off.

Do. The meaning of what was said, to put into practice, has three parts: The first of the sevenfold practices is to settle one's own mind in its place. The second is to separate attachment to body and mind. The third is to show the seeing of the nature of reality. The first, to hold the mind with the seven characteristics of the white letter A: In accordance with the agreeable place, sit comfortably on a cushion in the lotus position. Meditate on a white A shining at the tip of the nose. When the breath goes out, imagine the A also going out. When it fills inward, imagine the A also coming back in, and meditate mixing it with the breath. Furthermore, if there is a feverish illness in the body, imagine the A as a cold touch. For a cold illness, imagine it as a hot touch, and practice day and night. This will give rise to a unique experience of the mind being free from distraction and contraction. All body postures and breath practices are similar. If you get tired of that, then holding the mind with the letter PHAṬ (藏文:ཕཊ,梵文天城体:फट,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:啪): For a moment, let awareness wander, and then forcefully say "PHAṬ (藏文:ཕཊ,梵文天城体:फट,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:啪)", which will cause awareness to become stunned and non-conceptual. Hold the mind there until thoughts arise again, and then practice saying "PHAṬ (藏文:ཕཊ,梵文天城体:फट,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:啪)" day and night. This will give rise to a meditation of the mind's empty clarity and self-radiance. Furthermore, holding the mind with the laughter of an angry deity: Say "HA" forcefully and briefly, and focus the mind as before. This will give rise to an experience of non-conceptual clarity and radiance. Holding the mind with the fighting of the Asuras: Sit on a mountaintop or a cliff, etc., squatting down. First, slowly roll the head, and then move the body slowly. Do this for three or four days. Then, roll and move the body as fast as you can, as much as your body can handle. This will cause external appearances to change into red blood, yellow flashes, blue swirls, fading away, and gray haziness. After that, external appearances will naturally cease, and you will see that nothing has any inherent nature. This will give rise to an experience of the spontaneous liberation of appearances. During this time, eat food that is beneficial for the winds. Focus on the letter RAM (藏文:རཾ,梵文天城体:रं,梵文罗马拟音:raṃ,汉语字面意思:让) at the navel. Holding the mind by chasing away thoughts with HUNG (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽): Mix a long, drawn-out HUNG (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) with the breath, and hold the mind without letting it wander elsewhere. Occasionally, say a short HUNG (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), which will give rise to an experience of thoughts dissolving into the nature of reality. Similarly, meditate on RAM (藏文:རཾ,梵文天城体:रं,梵文罗马拟音:raṃ,汉语字面意思:让) at the navel, coordinating the breath and body postures, and meditate on yourself as a deity. Imagine subtle forms of the deity radiating and gathering through the nostrils and pores.
