It is also shown. In particular, the teaching of this Dharma is bestowed completely, and the individual who holds it is the one who appears as the lifeblood of the teaching at the pinnacle of the victory banner. As it is said in the *Tattvasiddhi*: Those who hold the view and practice Are endowed with faith and diligence. They are able to give and respect the guru, Avoid sin with discipline. They hold it with unwavering steadfastness. Or else, they are patient and gentle, Relaxed with the looseness of a fool. They have little conceptualization and are naturally slow, Devoid of physical and verbal activity, And hold it with wisdom. And as it is said in the *Great Jewel-Adorned Net Tantra*: Listen, O race of gods! Keep well in mind what I have taught. This great mandala of appearance Should not be shown to everyone, But shown to a few who can keep secrets. This secret mantra, the sacred secret, The lineage of the teaching is as follows: They are able to entrust secrets, Respect the meaning of secrets, Are intelligent and wise, And are shown to those who possess vows and commitments. Then, in particular, the retinue again asked Vajradhara: O, O Bhagavan Vajradhara! This secret meaning of the Great Perfection's instructions Is not to be shown indiscriminately, The definitive scripture is like the excellent cuckoo. The individual who teaches this, Their lineage and great conduct, And their color and characteristics, please tell us. Then, the Bhagavan Vajradhara, Arose from samadhi, And spoke to the special retinue: Listen, O special assembly of retinue! Listen well to what I will teach. The distinctions of lineage are as follows: The royal lineage and the Brahmin lineage, Likewise, the great merchant lineage, And to people of great distinction, It is said that the definitive meaning of secret mantra should be taught. Or else, examine the color without lineage. Either male or female is fine. Those who possess this color Are said to be vessels for the Great Perfection. Limbs are coarse and the color is black, Teeth are fine, white, and round. Eye veins are slightly red, And the great characteristics of the hair Are swirled to the right and are dark brown. Little respect for the body, And the external conduct is ordinary. Words are spoken spontaneously, Or else, all forms of words, As one speaks in any way, That person also speaks in that way. It is said that the instructions of the Great Perfection should be taught. Those are one

If complete, the butcher's caste or the prostitute's caste, the garbage sweeping caste is also fine. No matter who is any bad caste, entrust this secret instruction essence. If lacking resources and implements, also use your own implements and give them completely without reservation. This secret three-essence instruction, methods of examining lineage and color, etc., after my nirvana, this secret instruction essence, thus reveals the certain king. To those who reveal these, give the above instructions. Thus it is said. The second meaning, the definite method of how to practice has two methods of practice, namely, practicing as a beggar and practicing as a wild animal. The first is, leaving one's own country and going to other countries, making sure that no one knows one's name, good or bad, what one knows or does not know, etc., disguising oneself as an ordinary person, living by begging for food and clothing, in caves and slightly away from villages, or in secluded places, or in inns, etc., practicing without obvious signs. At this time, not showing off one's own merits is a sign of having no desire, and not asking about other lamas and dharmas, etc., is a sign of having faith in one's own instructions and having no doubt. It is also said, in the Wheel of Precious Instructions: In a place far from enemies, practice like a beggar. Thus it is said. The second, practicing like a wild animal, is to go to an extremely secluded rocky bird's nest on a mountain cliff, or in a forest, or on a mountain top, or at the foot of a snow mountain, or in a huge empty valley, and practice by abandoning three activities. That is, bodily activities such as trading, farming, urban acquisition, moving and swaying, circumambulation, etc., and all verbal expressions, whatever they may be, and mental distractions, recollections, and various thoughts that contradict one's own instructions, all of these should be abandoned, and one should practice with single-pointed, unwavering devotion to the one supreme instruction. The necessity is that the body is slow, so the pulse is slow, the pulse is slow, so the wind-mind is naturally slow, the wind-mind is slow, so discursive thoughts naturally cease, and non-discursive samadhi arises in the continuum. Speech is slow, so the meaning that cannot be expressed arises in the continuum, and if one does not speak, one abides in the nature that cannot be expressed.
