One with self-possession. Because the seed of the function of water arises as an illusory body, at this time it feeds on odors and is close to the karma of the former, and the connection of the five aggregates of the intermediate state of existence by the two is feeding on odors and being close to the two. From the seed of the function of fire, only the mind-body exists, but although there is no flesh and blood, it exists in the seed part, and it matures in the mind-body, so it seems that all the senses and limbs are complete. The third is complete with all senses and unobstructed. The seed of the function of the element of wind is lifted up by the karma wind without obstruction, and it wants to see everything and enter, so it is unobstructed, or it is called entering existence, which is the fourth. What is the cause of these? It comes from the power of the combination of the four wisdoms of the former. Twelfth, the size of the body is: those whose karma is not pure are like eight-year-old children, and those who are pure are the size of the body of sixteen-year-olds, like the image of a dream, without self-nature. The cause is seeing the eight ways of spontaneous manifestation. Thirteenth, to which place of birth does it belong: of the four types of birth, womb-born, egg-born, moisture-born, and miraculously born, it belongs to the miraculously born. Which dharma does it correspond to? Because it has miraculous powers and light, it corresponds to the gods; every seven weeks it experiences the suffering of birth and death, so it corresponds to hell. As it is said, "Hell beings and gods, intermediate beings are born miraculously." The cause is seeing the manifested image before. Fourteenth, the conduct is: the power of the truth of dharma-nature disappears, and the habits of previous attachments arise, so whatever was done before is also practiced here. The cause is being frightened and scared by self-appearance at the time of dharma-nature. Fifteenth, the light is: those who are pure in karma and born in higher realms have a white light that shines for one yojana; those who are impure and born in lower realms have a yellow and black light that is dim and only self-illuminating. The cause of these is the self-light of dharma-nature. Sixteenth, the karmic connection is: if one is born in the future in a good path and possesses the Dharma, one will encounter the appearance of goodness here; if one is born in the future with wealth, retinue, and enjoyment, one will appear to encounter the images that please one's mind. Those who are born in the future with incomplete senses and

If one is born into the realm of sinners and evil destinies, one will feel as if one has encountered undesirable and impoverished circumstances. The cause is attachment to or hatred of the nature of reality. Seventeenth, the connection between body and afflictions: Even though the form body itself has no substance, if attachment to one's own form arises in the space of a dream, one will be born in the desire realm; if hatred arises, one will be born in the form realm; if a neutral emotion arises, one will be born in the formless realm. The cause of these is deviation from the truth of the nature of reality. Eighteenth, which realm one belongs to: Among the three realms of desire, form, and formlessness, although one feels that the four mental aggregates are illusory and exist in the mind body, because the aggregates of the next life have not been taken, the form body itself has no substance. Other than the form aggregate, feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness abide in the aggregate of latent tendencies, therefore one belongs to the formless realm. If one asks what the cause of the formless realm is, it is from seeing the nature of reality as illusory. Nineteenth, the signs of entering the womb of the next life: From one or two weeks to seven weeks, experiencing the intermediate state, the karma is determined to be completed, and then when one is first born into the next life, if one is born into the realm of the gods, at this time in the appearance of consciousness, one will feel that one is dwelling on the top floor of a temple or in a stacked jeweled house. If one is born into the womb of an Asura, one will feel that one is dwelling in a wheel of fire or in the middle of falling rain. If one is born into the human realm, if one feels very cold, that is an ordinary human body; if one feels that one is dwelling in the middle of mist, that is a pure human body; if one feels that one is dwelling in the midst of a crowd of people, that is a precious human body. If one is born into the womb of an animal, one will feel that one is dwelling in a hut, or a cave, or in fog. If one is born into the womb of a hungry ghost, one will feel that one is dwelling in a dilapidated cave. Hell is not through the intermediate state, but exists directly. If these things occur, it means that one has already entered the womb, and even if one wants to leave, one is powerless because of obstacles. The reason is that one did not believe in the truth of the nature of reality before. Twentieth, the analogy is: Just as grass holds fire, one grasps the womb due to the power of karma and habitual tendencies; just as a muddy swamp grasps beings, jewels, or trees, in samsara, self-awareness
