It is perfected in the mandala. The way of perfection is: the retinues of the Five Buddhas are perfected within the sphere of light, in the hearts of the Five Buddha parents. In the hearts of the deities of those directions, each complete mandala is perfected. The Vajra family is Akshobhya, the Ratna family is Ratnasambhava, the Padma family is Amitabha, and the Karma family is Amoghasiddhi, with their consorts and retinues, perfected in a way that is transparent inside and out. When the five spheres of light are connected, in the hearts of each of the five sets of bodies of the five families' retinues, the mandala of that family's retinue, complete with Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, consorts, and gatekeepers, is perfected individually. At this time, even though one does not feel that one has an independent body, the feeling that one does is due to the power of the habitual tendencies of grasping the body as self, like a dream. This feeling exists until the seeds of habitual tendencies are exhausted. In reality, at that time, one is in a body of light. Therefore, from the heart, the radiance of awareness having pure appearance shines forth. In the heart of each body, the mandala of the retinue appears clearly, like a face appearing in a mirror. At this time, from the hearts of all those Sambhogakaya Buddhas, rays of light like strands of a horse's tail shoot from all ten directions and pierce one's own heart, and from one's own heart, they also pierce their hearts. This symbolizes the connection of self-radiance, like the rays of light of crystal connected to crystal. At that time, one's awareness is grasped by seeing the rays of light from one's own eyes, and one naturally abides in a samadhi that does not conceptualize any object. Third, symbolizing the irreversible instruction is that at that time, the five intertwined rays of light are adhered to but not touched, like five intertwined strands of a horse's tail. First, when awareness enters into light, when looking outward at one's own appearance, one abides in the state of knowing that appearance is self-appearance. When those appearances dissolve from the rays of light into one's own heart, it is called light entering into awareness. This is because one has recognized the face of one's own nature of original purity, and in that very moment, one has realized the ground and is transparent and unobstructed. After that, there are no more appearances. Awareness is oneself, and light refers to those external self-appearances. Therefore, at the beginning of arising, it enters outward. At the time of dissolution, they enter inward. The instruction is that the external appearances, like children, the lights, dissolve into the heart of the self-aware mother, like entering into her lap.

, merging into the nature of reality, it is said to be liberated in the ground of primordial purity. When these are combined with definitive statements, the "Union of Sun and Moon" states: That is, the clear light of the individual dissolves into union. Furthermore, these appearances arise as the appearances of the bodies themselves. These bodies are neither large nor small, but perfectly equal, adorned with ornaments, colors, postures, thrones, and their respective hand gestures. All these bodies are pervaded by pairs of fives, each group of five surrounded by a halo of light. Lineages that hold the aspect of the father, lineages that hold the aspect of the mother, bodhisattvas, bodhisattvis, and all mandalas are perfectly present in one. At that time, a very subtle light arises from one's own heart, connecting and arising in the hearts of all the bodies. One's own awareness grasps it, and naturally abides in non-conceptual meditation. This is called awareness entering into light. Then, all those appearances become exceedingly dense, and countless subtle bindus appear on the heart's channels. Then, again, from one's own heart, a thread of light arises, like a skein of colored threads. Then, the appearance arises that all those bodies dissolve into one's own body, which is called light returning into awareness. At this time, practitioners should remember the supreme method, like a child entering its mother's lap. Third, the appearance of the union of the four wisdoms is said to dissolve into union wisdom, from the two aspects of how appearances arise and how instructions are remembered. The appearance is that again from the heart, from about the size of four fingers, a light that is slightly less clear than before appears, a thread of four intertwined colors, very thin, like a strand of a horse's tail, appearing to pierce the sky above. When viewed with the eye of wisdom, it expands greatly from that subtle appearance, becoming vast without mixing, but the essence of the initial subtlety does not change, only the appearance becomes larger. Like a large or small piece of blue cloth, within the range of one's own senses, unmixed with other colors, it appears in front of oneself. This is the appearance of the wisdom of the dharmadhatu. Above it, the nature of the wisdom of the dharmadhatu, the rays of bindus, white, red, yellow, and
