These are general classifications. Specifically, bad omens such as wind and hail may be caused by the anger of non-humans, or they may be signs of the death of other wicked people. Good omens such as rainbows and clear skies may be signs of other holy beings ascending the throne, attaining samadhi, or passing away. Therefore, here it refers to someone's own mind having the ability to produce these signs. If a person is kind-hearted and behaves properly while alive, then good signs will appear when they die. If a person is evil while alive, even if good signs appear, they are mistaken for the signs of others. There is a saying in the world, "rainbow seekers," and from their signs, it is likely that bad signs will appear, because the internal and external causes and effects are unified. If these special circumstances are not understood here, then bad signs may appear for holy beings, leading to slander; and good signs may appear for sinners, such as encountering "rainbow seekers," leading to rejoicing and then imitating them. To avoid these situations, this is why it is said. As it is said in the tantra of signs of burning corpses: "Thus, all sentient beings, When the actions of life are performed, The nature of space, All these act in the place of birth. When someone dies, The sky is gray, dark, and black. Likewise, rain and mist, Wind and hail, blizzards, Whoever these appear to, This is the place of birth of hell. In this, there is no intermediate state, O Dakini, it transforms. The sky is like a fog, The light is yellow, and the sun and moon are gone. When there is no wind or hail, Hail And sleet, the sun does not appear, And rain or hail, Will fall in the evening. Whoever this appears to, This is the place of birth of the hungry ghosts, Birth after birth, O Dakini. The sky is dim and there is no wind, The clouds are dark and there are no gaps, Or fog appears, Dim and unpleasant, Whoever performs the actions of life, This is the realm of animals. Extremely fierce and stirred by the wind, The clouds are black and terrifying, Extremely agitated and moving back and forth, Thunder and lightning flash, The sun and moon cannot be seen, Whoever this appears to, This is the place of birth of the Asuras. The sky is clear

In the clear void, the light of the sun and moon appears, and wind and hail cannot rise. This is the birthplace of the gods. Furthermore, in the clear sky, clouds like white silk, very thin, appearing like threads. Or, the sun and moon have halos. Thus, whoever has these signs will obtain the human birthplace. Those who have such signs will surely be reborn in the six realms. Unlike this, all fabrications, without signs, without certainty. Thus, all these signs will appear in two to three days. These are all signs of birth in that birthplace. So it is said. Those who die without signs, although it is known where they will be born, depending on their own karma. However, at the time of death, the appearance of the fire of hell, the appearance of hunger, thirst, and fear, the dimming of consciousness or the feeling of being in the animal realm, or not seeing the previous human realm, or experiencing the inside of Mount Meru and the ocean, or seeing the palace of the gods or the appearance of a garden, or seeing the appearance of white light, these are the signs of certain rebirth in each of the six realms, as stated in the Sutras. Furthermore, in the Tantras, it is said that when heat disappears from the soles of the feet, the teeth, the navel, the throat, the eyebrows, and the crown of the head, this is a sign of obtaining the birthplace of the six realms. If the signs that appear are in accordance with one's own mind, then it should be determined that these are the signs of each of the six realms. In the Supreme Treasure of the Vehicle, it is said that the classification of the signs of the three times, past, present, and future, is determined. This is the twenty-second level of the room. The twenty-third level of the room, showing the manifestation of self-appearing Bardo. Thus, having shown the place of general instructions, diligence, and the methods of liberation in this life for those of superior faculties, along with the order of signs. Now, in order to widely establish the categories of Dharma for the complete enlightenment of those of intermediate faculties in the Bardo, it is divided into two parts: the establishment of the general characteristics of the Bardo, and the detailed explanation of their respective natures. The first part includes five aspects: the nature of the Bardo, the definition, the classification, the manner of appearance, and the boundaries. First, the nature is: the state in which external phenomena appear to the inner mind. That is, all appearances other than the inner pure original nature are the state of Bardo, that is, the basis appearing as the self of body and wisdom.
