There are two gates: pure wisdom and impure samsara. If you recognize your own nature, compassion, non-duality, and liberation will arise, and then the power will dissolve into the base and be liberated. Thus, because there is a base appearance on the base, the key to the appearance of eight kinds of appearances is during practice, in the bardo, and whenever one is initially deluded as a sentient being. Buddhas and sentient beings are also just a matter of appearance recognizing or not recognizing their own nature. Samsara and nirvana are the same cause in awareness, like the palm and back of a hand. This present appearance is also on the gate of impurity, with about eight examples of illusory appearances. Other than that, there is no inner or outer place, it is baseless, equal, and open. There is no need to abandon or adopt anything. When other appearances arise, it is a great self-liberation without trace, like a dream disappearing when waking up. In the liberation of the base, there is self-liberation, entering into original emptiness, which is also a kind of emptiness. Therefore, if you understand one key well, you will effortlessly go to vast liberation. Third, showing how to dissolve into the first base: Thus, whether you recognize or do not recognize the great appearances that arise from the base, like dissolving into crystal light, or like the former dream disappearing when the latter dream arises, they quietly disappear, and there is no appearance at all. This is returning to the original emptiness, not going elsewhere, just as a dream disappears in sleep, not going elsewhere. In particular, when a dream appears when awake, it disappears into awareness, not going anywhere else. If you wonder how it dissolves, the Precious Pile Sutra says: Alas, listen to the Vajra of Speech! All of these are the ways in which faults and virtues appear, the qualities of awareness itself, or the eight ways of dissolving into the power of play. The spontaneously accomplished, indeterminate base, such as this way of qualities, compassion itself dissolves into compassion, one's own nature dissolves into oneself, and in the way of obtaining without abandoning, it passes into the realm of non-action. Because nothing is done, all actions pass into cessation. Because there is no appearance of doing what has not been done, all conditioned things enter the realm of purity. It itself dissolves into itself, not going elsewhere. For example, in the essence of the sun, one's own rays dissolve into oneself, with one's own radiance and power, all that is seen passes into cessation. All of these are jewel-like qualities, not abiding in faults, returning to one's own place. One's own light dissolves into oneself.

This will also appear as great merit. When one's own nature is completely pure, The clinging to names and forms will cease. The external, coarse four elements, Will not appear here either, so attachment will subside. From the self-pure great emptiness, The attachment to colors and the attachment to self will both be extinguished. This will not go elsewhere either, Because one's own nature merges into one's own nature, All appearances will be extinguished. When the mandala of light merges into one's own nature, For example, the rainbow in the sky, Like dissolving into the sky itself. In the vast space of indivisibility, All clinging and attachment will be extinguished. This is also a precious merit. The way merit arises is like this, Wisdom itself merges into wisdom itself. Because one's own nature merges into one's own nature, The knowledge's grasping, discrimination, memory, and thought, In the equal space where one abides, All duality will be extinguished. The appearance of each individual wisdom, In the center of the uncreated expanse, Extinguishes without disappearing. When that merges into itself, All the various plays of wisdom, Merge into their own original face, Just like a child entering its mother's lap. Confidence in one's own wisdom, One's own nature is extinguished. This is also a precious merit. Again, the way merit merges, When the body merges into the body, All forms, in the great non-discrimination, Are extinguished without appearance. The coarse aggregation of the four elements, And the subtle ignorance, etc., Are extinguished without distinction. When the bodies merge into their own nature, The elements of knowledge do not flow outward. For example, like the shape of a vase, The inner clarity and the outer flow, Abide without inherent existence. This is also a precious merit. Again, such merit as this, When non-duality merges into non-duality, The clinging to numbers, In the single freedom from elaboration, Just like two people becoming one, Is extinguished in the merging of self. The appearance of duality merges into one's own nature, For example, a river merging into a river, Like merging, it cannot be divided. Extinguished in the great indivisibility. This is also a precious merit. Unobstructed merit is like this, The nature of liberation merges into liberation, Because one's own nature merges into one's own nature, The self-continuum clinging to the three bodies, All bodies are exhausted and extinguished. When the ultimate merges into self-purity, For example, the sky merging into the sky, Like merging, it is unrecognizable. The conceptual clinging to the four extremes naturally ceases, Extinguished in the great non-abiding.
