Therefore, awareness is inherently pervasive. And awareness pervades all beings with its clear and empty great wisdom, which is called the Tantra of Means to be Expressed. As it says in the Garland of Pearls: The Tantra of Means of all Buddhas, From the difference of the single ground of essence, Are the expressible and the expressing. The expressible, a single pervasive continuum, Connects everything to it. Pervasion is of two kinds: Pervading by emptiness and pervading by clarity. Emptiness is a single cause, because it is non-existent, It transcends the dharma of all things. Reality, that is, non-appearance, is uniformly pervasive, Therefore, it is the single essence that is the basis of all. Pervasion is complete in the Lord of Pervasion. With unborn, memory exhausted, From the distinction of the essence itself, Empty and appearing, appearing and empty. Reality is also non-reality. Because it is exhausted, it abides in emptiness from the beginning. Because it is free from cause and condition, it is the realm of emptiness. Pervasive and vast, empty by its non-existent essence. Immaculate, unmixed, and complete. The nature of non-conceptual emptiness, Because it pervades with emptiness, it is called a continuum. Clarity, that is, its nature is unceasing, Illuminating appearance and all-pervading, It holds the nature of clarity, warmth, coolness, Spaciousness, and movement. Pervasion, primordial purity, self-clarity, And the seed of liberation's maturation. Because it turns away from emptiness, it pervades with clarity. Simultaneous ones and self-liberated ones, Self-arisen clarity is connected to the body. Immaculate and individually clear, In the appearance of the realm of ungrasping clarity, The five senses' consciousness is self-luminous and complete. Because clarity pervades the body, it is called a continuum. So it is. Secondly, the Tantra of Means to Express has three aspects. Its essence is: The supreme key instructions for realizing the meaning of the expressible, the means of awareness. Its definition is: Symbolizing the wisdom of awareness that abides in oneself, In the means of realization, the essential points of practice are summarized and shown in one place, therefore it is called the Tantra of Means to be Expressed. Generally speaking, the words of the explanatory tantras are profound and difficult to understand, while the words of the key instruction tantras are clear and easy to understand. The tantras of the Great Perfection are called key instruction tantras. Classification: It is divided into effortless, naturally liberated, and effortful, gradual guidance. The first is: Base Cutting Through, for those with sudden faculties, liberation from the beginning in sequence, so there is no need to repeat the base, etc. The second is Path Transcendence, for those with gradual faculties.

Those practitioners attain liberation by aligning with the key points of the channels and winds. Through the three preliminary practices and settling the mind, they progress until the self-essence manifests directly. By practicing in accordance with the key points of the body, the gate, the place, and the wind-awareness, the four appearances reach their limit, and liberation is demonstrated. As it is said in the same tantra: "The realization of these is indeed the special method. According to the differences in beings' intelligence, how should the stages be explained? Without effort, there is self-liberation; with effort, one should practice. Those without effort are self-purified. The key points are of three kinds. One should practice their meaning, namely, body, gate, and place. The key point of the body is these three: the posture of a lion, the posture of an elephant, and it should be known as like a sage. The gate is that itself does not move, and the two clarifiers do not move, so that even space itself does not move. The key point of the place is also of three kinds: the pure realm of reality abides, likewise the essence of awareness abides, and all appearances abide. Mind remains unchanged in its own place, heart remains unchanged in wakefulness, awareness unmoving, the three kayas are clear. When mind and heart are slow, the stream of thoughts ceases; when body and speech are slow, suffering is absent. When awareness is slow, the five kayas arise; when awareness arises, the causes of arising cease; when the realm of reality and awareness arise, object and mind cease. Thus, the symbolic method tantra, without generating completion in one's own continuum, is a method because it symbolizes, and it is called a tantra because it continuously abides." Secondly, the tantra of self-nature is the meaning of the ground, path, and fruition. As it is said in the same tantra: "Because it is definitely grasped by the ground, path, and fruition, it is the tantra of self-nature." Here, the essence is the essence of emptiness, clarity, and awareness, encompassed by the ground, path, and fruition. The definition is that it pervades all and is the self-nature of accomplishing Buddhahood, therefore it is called the tantra of self-nature. The divisions are: the ground, the essence, and the quintessence of the self-nature tantra, which are three. The ground self-nature tantra is the primordial, originally pure awareness, the three of essence, self-nature, and compassion. Moreover, the essence is pure from the beginning, so there is no name for ignorance; even a fabricated delusion has never existed. The self-nature is spontaneously accomplished, so awareness is clear as light. Compassion pervades all, so it is the cause of manifestation.
