There is nothing, and at the crucial moment when the fruit ripens, one wishes to encounter the mother of Dharma-nature. The essence of oral instructions is non-conceptual, without delusion, the nature is that the source of thoughts has been exhausted, and the characteristic is non-duality, without clinging. If distinguished, there are two types: oral instructions forgotten by foolish negligence, and oral instructions that can be pointed out face-to-face at any time. The first is: by using the key of the channels to bring the prana into the key, with the mantra that captures one's own mind as a prisoner, to expel Dharma-nature from its source, and the key to explaining the Buddha and sentient beings because its form has changed, and the key to severing the connection between body and mind by bringing the key of prana into the body, and the key to the spontaneous liberation of movement because the channels and prana are forgotten through negligence. The second is: from the perspective of the vastness of the Dharmadhatu, because there is nothing that cannot be contained, the pervasiveness of samsara and nirvana is valued, because there is no clinging to the emptiness of the Dharmadhatu, the changes of phenomena are valued, and because there is no fabrication in the Dharmadhatu, it is called self-arisen wisdom. The essence of the oral instructions of the tantra itself is revealed as the source of all teachings, especially cut off by Dharma-nature. Because there is no difference in nature, the dependence on samsara is severed, and because the characteristics are not formed in sounds and words, emptiness is free from the root of contention. If distinguished, there are four types: teaching in the form of gathering views, teaching in the form of bloodletting to eliminate obstacles, teaching in the form of revealing hidden things, and teaching in the form of explaining natural manifestation. The first is: the essence is unelaborated, pervading the basis, therefore karma has no good or bad, the three realms are completely liberated, the nature of emptiness manifests in various ways, therefore good and bad karma do not bring benefit or harm, there is no Buddha and sentient beings. The characteristics are not in words and letters, therefore one does not attain Buddhahood through the teachings of various vehicles, it is the key to entering the faculties simultaneously. If distinguished, there are two types: the inaction of wanting to regard appearances as views, and the universal arising of gathering the mind's understanding into views. The first is: the essence has no Dharma, therefore even the name of Buddha does not exist, the nature manifests as power, therefore samsara and nirvana manifest as views, the characteristics are not fixed as one, therefore there is no limit to view and meditation. The second is: the essence is unborn, completely pure, therefore afflictions are naturally liberated, the nature is unimpeded, universally manifested, therefore there is no abandonment or acceptance, the characteristics are without cause.

Thus, liberation exhausts the path of samsara and nirvana. The essence of dispelling obstacles is to dissect the key points of dharmata, thereby dividing the boundary between samsara and nirvana. With the infallible basis of self-nature, wisdom does not combine with mother and child. With the causeless purity of self-nature, delusion dissolves on its own. There are two types of classification: dispelling the obstacles of the heat of view and meditation, and dispelling the obstacles of the way things abide. The first is: the warmth of view is the connection between samsara and nirvana. That is to say, when the view wavers, recognizing the dharmata of samsara is like recognizing ghosts and thieves. When the view is attained, warmth arises in body and speech, like adding wood to a burning fire. When the view is stable, the difference between samsara and nirvana is distinguished, like an army winning on the battlefield. When meditation wavers, the prana enters the mind, like entering the treasury of a rich man. When meditation is attained, the mind enters the path, like enclosing a pig in a wall. When meditation is stable, the power of awareness is obtained, like a king receiving empowerment from the crown of his head. When behavior wavers, the grasp of awareness is lost, like a patient with heart disease suddenly having an attack. When behavior is attained, the appearance of delusion is subdued, like a garuda spreading its wings and soaring on cliffs and precipices. When behavior is stable, the warmth of the three kayas is obtained, like obtaining it from a Brahmin woman. Therefore, by dispelling appearances with behavior, the causes and conditions of appearances cannot go beyond dharmata. By dispelling the obstacles of the wavering of meditation, memory and thought cannot go beyond samadhi. By dispelling the obstacles of the dharmata of view, enlightenment is attained without relying on the Dharma. The essence of dispelling obstacles by the way things abide is that dharmata cannot be changed, so whatever appears is not mind. Self-nature has no cause and effect, so there is no place to go without self-will. Self-nature does not need to be habituated, so it does not depend on other knowable things. The essence of concealing and revealing is unattainable, so there is no hope for anything. Self-nature has no bias, so there is no doubt about anything. If self-nature is examined, it cannot be found, so it is called the rotten root of samsara and nirvana. There are two types of classification: concealing one and revealing two, and concealing two and revealing one.
