Regarding the three views: The first view is that when a sound is heard, only the consciousness that grasps the sound arises, just as the consciousness that grasps forms and other things does not arise. For whatever object is engaged, only the consciousness that grasps that object arises, and no other consciousness arises. Therefore, they believe that there are as many consciousnesses as there are appearances. The second view is that the various things that appear externally also arise from consciousness, and the consciousness that grasps these things also arises from the mind. Just like a broken egg, appearances and consciousness, object and subject, appear in one mind. Now, when grasping an object, one consciousness of external appearance and one consciousness of internal grasping arise simultaneously. Although they appear as two due to beginningless habits, there is no other way to establish them except for self-awareness, just like a broken egg. So, when a consciousness of external appearance arises, a consciousness that grasps it arises simultaneously. Does this mean that two conceptual thoughts arise simultaneously? No, because the consciousness of appearance is non-conceptual. The third view is that although external appearances appear in various ways, only one consciousness of internal grasping knows them. Just like a monkey moving quickly inside a castle, it quickly scans the four corners. Similarly, one consciousness enters the five doors and thus knows the objects. At the time of knowing, both appearance and consciousness are inseparable from the nature of one mind, just as the appearance and grasping in a dream appear as oneself, both of which are inseparable from the consciousness of the same sleep. These are their views. The second is the false aspect of the Mind-Only school. On the appearance of external objects, the habit of consciousness appearing as erroneous is false, but consciousness itself is not real. The consciousness that measures it is also measured by falsehood, and there is no measurement by true experience. Therefore, both object and consciousness are considered to be merely the nature of false appearance. If we distinguish this, there are two views: one is that it is considered to be false with defilements, and the other is that it is considered to be pure without defilements. The first view is that the various appearances that appear now, and the consciousness that measures these appearances, are merely the appearance of the mind's defilements. In the ultimate truth, there is only the nature of the qualities of the non-dual wisdom realm, and there is nothing that is established as consciousness. The Buddha's unconditioned Dharmakaya is non-dual wisdom, which is the stainless Suchness. In the conditioned state, there is the defilement of latent habits.

Because there are still slight stains, they appear as confusion, seeing phenomena such as physical fatigue. Now, in the mind, afflictions and wisdom are mixed, and by removing the false stains of the afflictions, pure wisdom without remainder can be manifested, so they believe. The pure ones believe that even mere appearances and consciousness are not truly established, because those who are attached are accustomed to the thoughts they have in their minds when they are young, just as the appearance of their faces appears clearly in their awareness without needing to think. Therefore, the appearances of objects appear in various colors, and both the measuring mind and the measured object do not exist, yet they appear like reflections. Only the self-cognizant wisdom of each individual who experiences their meaning is ultimately real, so they believe. Secondly, the Madhyamaka school is divided into the Svatantrika and Prasangika schools. First, the Svatantrika school believes that not only are the various appearances and the absence of a measuring mind merely appearances, but also that the self-cognizant wisdom of each individual is inherently empty in ultimate truth. If we classify this, there are those who believe that illusion is ultimate truth and those who believe in non-abiding. First, objects and subjects do not exist, and the unestablished self-cognizant wisdom is inexpressible and inconceivable, existing only as an illusion in ultimate truth. Therefore, through the merit of practice, one attains the paths and bhumis, and ultimately attains the illusory wisdom of the Buddha, and benefits beings in an illusory way from within the Dharmakaya. As stated in the intermediate Prajnaparamita Sutra: All dharmas are like dreams, like illusions. Nirvana is also like a dream, like an illusion. If there is a dharma greater than Nirvana, that too is like a dream, like an illusion. All dharmas refer to all kinds of objects and consciousness. Nirvana refers to obtaining the Rupakaya and benefiting beings. The dharma that is superior to that is the suchness of each individual's self-cognizance and the sacred Dharmakaya, so they believe. There are also those who believe that illusion is truly established, those who believe that illusion is apparent, and those who believe that it is merely illusion, and so on, with many categories, known as the Lower Svatantrika. Secondly, even illusion does not exist in ultimate truth, because there are no objects or appearances, so the self-cognizance that experiences their non-existence does not exist either.
