The classification of obscuration and, the detailed explanation of the classification of differences. First, there are two: the body of awareness appearing as objects, and the body of accumulated essence. That is, it says in the Union of Sun and Moon: There are two bodies: the body of awareness appearing as objects, and the body of accumulated essences. The first is what appears to the senses and has no affirmation or negation. It is divided into the senses, aggregates, and the body of pure objects and object-holders, these three. It says in that very text: The body of awareness appearing as objects is the great body of pure senses, the great body of pure aggregates, and the great body of pure realms, sources, objects, object-holders, and afflictions. The second, the body of accumulated essence, appears to those whose familiarity has become power. It is divided into the body that holds its own characteristics without reversing the path, and the body of suchness, where the characteristics of light and body are indistinguishable in color. The first of these is: Because the three, essence, nature, and compassion, hold the characteristics of the path, they cause the fruit to reach its limit. It is known as the body of great play, the body of great totality, and the body that follows the lineage. That is, it says in the Union of Sun and Moon: The body that holds its own characteristics is as follows: the body of great play, which is non-discriminating, the body of the supreme great totality, and the body that follows the lineage. The second, the body of suchness, has three aspects: ground, path, and fruit. The ground is the body of self-born wisdom that has always existed. The path is the body of light, radiance, and space, which does not change from the beginning of time, but only appears outwardly. The fruit is the three bodies, spontaneously accomplished, reaching the exhaustion of space. Again, it says in that very text: The body of suchness is as follows: the body of the first abiding, the body of unchanging beginning, and the body of self-perfection as the fruit. The body of self-perfection as the fruit has three aspects: the Dharmakaya, the great one without elaboration; the Sambhogakaya, the great one without grasping; and the Nirmanakaya, the great one without self. Second, the detailed explanation of the classification of differences has two aspects: a brief statement of the essence and a detailed explanation of the aspects. The first is from Rangshar: What is that body? The body of fundamental awareness and the vast Dharmata.

The present body, the vast expanse of space body, the immutable vajra body, the unchanging essence body, the true bliss body, the inverted mind body, the seeing self-liberated body, the single bindu body, the uninterrupted space body, the impartial sun and moon body, the non-different other body, the unattached self-liberated body. The second is, what are the characteristics of those thirteen bodies? It is said to be from that very source. How is that? The body of fundamental awareness is the vajra chain body, which is clear when one's own eye faculty is not obstructed. That is called the body of fundamental awareness. The vast body of dharmata is the original basis, the great primordial purity, without thought, without ignorance, without mind, without intellect, without grasping. How is that? Uninterrupted wisdom, spontaneously accomplished Buddha, dharmata free from elaboration, awareness free from extremes, the appearance of great purity, abiding in impartial view. That is vast, clear, immutable, wisdom unceasing, bindus scattering in various ways, immutable dharmata, the outer not broken, the inner five wisdom lights not obscured but clear, abiding in the essence of body and wisdom. That is called the vast body of dharmata. The body of the vast expanse of space is the lamp of space completely purified, that space is also uninterrupted, impartial, without decrease, without increase, without emptiness, without fullness, possessing clarity, the place where many bodies appear, the nature of all vastness, unsurpassed because it is extremely large, the Buddha seen by view, the ground of attaining certainty. That is called the body of the vast expanse of space. The immutable vajra body is the fruit without Buddha, the samsara without sentient beings, the Buddha who cuts off life, the arising without action, the object never seen, the word never heard, the body never received, the virtue of cutting off life, the deity without accomplishment, the essence uncounted, the meditation unpracticed, the mandala unwritten, the accumulation ungathered. That is the immutable vajra body. The unchanging essence body is
