This is an explanation of that. First, in the Ornament for Clear Realization, it says: "The essence of mind and wisdom, what is called mind is delusion, its nature enters and pervades, it is the basis of memory and thought, classified as pure and impure, by definition, thinking generates the object of memory, on what does the mind dwell, with what does the mind dwell, what is the mind, and why does the mind dwell." As it is said, this has four aspects: nature, definition, classification, and individual meanings. First, the nature is: the consciousness that arises as subject and object, grasping and being grasped, which is pervaded by ignorance. The definition is: because it arises as subject and object, it thinks of object and subject, therefore it is called mind. The minds of the previous two are also grasping and being grasped, focused on one point of samadhi. In the desire realm, it is coarse conceptual thought. The classification is twofold: pure and impure. Pure has two aspects: the purity of mind itself and the purity of mind. The purity of mind itself is: the dharmata, the suchness, which is empty of mind, mental factors, and things grasped as characteristics, is the self-awareness of each individual. As Ronalinpa, the vidyadhara, said in his praise of the Mother (Prajnaparamita): "Speech, thought, and expression are all absent, Mother Prajnaparamita, unborn and unceasing, like the nature of space, the wisdom of self-awareness is the object of practice, I prostrate to the mother of the Buddhas of the three times." It appears as such. The purity of mind is: at the time of the path, the mind is not defiled by conceptual thought, it is capable of being the cause of liberation, it arises in samadhi, and compassion with conceptual thought, the generation of bodhicitta, etc., are all capable of being the cause of liberation. As it says in the Precious Garland: "Emptiness is the essence of compassion, for some who practice bodhi." And "Without attachment, without hatred, without ignorance, the karma generated by that is virtuous." Such as these. These also cannot be directly apprehended apart from grasping the general appearance of the ultimate truth of self-arising, therefore they are included in the mind belonging to samsara. As it says in the Uttaratantra: "The ultimate truth of self-arising, can only be realized through faith, although the sun's disc is bright, it cannot be seen by those without eyes." As it is said. If we divide the impure mind, there are two: brief explanation and detailed explanation. First, although there is no impurity in the essence, when it moves from that, from the ground appearance, whatever arises is uninterrupted. From the play of ignorance arises mind, from the adornment of mind arises intellect, from intellect arises afflictions.

Oh! So, manifestation (Rolpa) is like energy or ability, just the sound that arises from it. Like a sprout from a seed, and the image of a face appearing in a mirror. Adornment (Gyan) is the part that matures and appears from that, like a fruit, like a flower from a seed and the bulge of grain. As it says in Rangshar: In the appearance of pure Kadak, there is no ignorance, no mind, no intellect. However, from the spontaneously accomplished energy, ignorance arose. From the manifestation of ignorance, mind arose. From the adornment of mind, intellect arose. From the realm of intellect, the five poisons arose. From the five poisons, sixteen afflictions arose. From the sixteen, twenty-five arose. From that, fifty-one arose. From that, eighty-four thousand arose. The second part is the detailed explanation, which has three parts: the classification of the root ignorance, the classification of the mind that arises from it, and the detailed explanation of the classification of the afflictions that arise from it. The first part, again, says in the same text: Ignorance is like this: the root is the ignorance of the mind, delusion is the ignorance of the object, the basis of delusion is the ignorance of the ground, grasping is the ignorance of thought, fabrication is the ignorance of the path, and not knowing is the ignorance of delusion. Thus, ignorance arises in six ways, so one does not see one's own appearance. That is, in order: the initial awareness does not know itself, so there is the delusion of mistaking oneself for another; the delusion of not knowing that the nature of the appearing object is without self-nature; the delusion of mistaking a scarecrow for a person due to circumstances; the delusion of grasping at the appearance as self, even though the nature of awareness is without self, like saying "my house"; like fabricating a path; the delusion of turning the antidote into poison, so that it does not allow liberation; and the delusion of always being in samsara because one does not understand the meaning of naturally luminous. The second part, the classification of the mind that arises from that, is: In Rangshar it says: The classification of the mind is like this: a mind that gathers various things, like water; a mind without clean or unclean, like a pig; a mind that is very brave and rude, like a tiger; a mind that is light, like a feather; a mind that moves, like the wind; a mind that is completely intoxicated, like a swamp; a mind that spreads, like a spark; a mind of desire, like a bird; a mind that grows, like a branch.
