Due to mutual contradiction between before and after, similarity immediately dissolves in its own cause. Thus, by mistaking cause and condition as dualistic nature, when the two mature, the accumulations done by the body are different. When the mind acts as the cause, due to the different objects of consciousness, the object and mind are mistaken as different. Together with the body and mind, even that is mistaken in the first moment. This is the beginning of samsara. The Root Wisdom Treatise says: "The beginning of all samsaric phenomena is, from the non-discriminating, unconditioned nature, the object of attachment arises, from discriminating attachment, difference appears. The connection of attachment to objects forms the twelve links, which is the very beginning of samsara." The way illusion arises from the three ignorances is: the root that transmits and does not discriminate, because one does not recognize it as one's own nature, this is also the beginning of samsara. And so on. At that time, the twelve links of dependent origination arise in the order of occurrence. Because one does not recognize the energy of compassion as one's own nature, the three ignorances arise, which is ignorance. The four conditions are the creators of samsara. From this, coarse consciousness operates in the form of objects, which is consciousness. From this, different bodies and names arise, which are name and form. From this, the colors and the constituent parts of each element are established, which are the six sense sources. From this, enjoying objects, which is contact. From this, the three feelings of pleasure, pain, and neutrality arise, which is feeling. From this, the consciousness that clings to pleasure and does not want suffering, which is craving. From this, accepting objects, which is grasping. From this, karma and afflictions increase, forming the karma that propels one into future lives, which is existence. From this, being born into different realms, which is birth. From this, reaching maturity, aging, and dying, which is old age and death. This is also, from the beginning to the end, the illusion created by the rotation of the twelve links. In one lifetime, the clear light fades, and in the first moment of the possibility of the bardo of existence, not recognizing one's own nature is ignorance. Death occurs when the outer breath ceases, and in between is the forward progression of dependent origination. After that, the subtle and coarse ways of dissolution, and the order of transference of the channels, etc., are in reverse order. When the illusion of emptiness returns to samsara, from the self-born nature of nirvana, from the appearance of the initially pure, the appearances of the dharmata bardo, etc., are the manifestation of the dependent origination of nirvana. There...

If one does not know, it is samsara; if one knows, it is liberation, hence it is said that samsara is liberated into nirvana. That is, the ground and the ground-appearance, both of which are without ignorance, but arise suddenly like clouds, hence they are the condition. By the habit of impure appearance as samsara as the cause, one is confused in the three realms and six classes of beings. As the "String of Pearls" says: In such a state of the nature of reality, there is no delusion from the beginning; the Dharmakaya is like the sky, and sentient beings are obscured by sudden clouds. It also says: In that great ground-appearance itself, there is no such thing as ignorance, so there is no establishment of delusion. Thus it is. The arising of impure samsaric dharmas due to sudden and intense clinging is as stated in that very text: Thus, the three realms of the world, the five aggregates, the five faculties, the five branches, the five meanings, the five objects, the five afflictions, the five minds, the five thoughts, and the five discriminations, grasping and being grasped, are established as samsara itself. It also says: Earth, water, fire, wind, and space, all the elements arise from it. Gods, demigods, humans, hell-beings, animals, and hungry ghosts, all arise from that great one. Attachment, hatred, delusion, pride, jealousy, and so on, all arise from it as magical displays. Ignorant sentient beings, minds, aggregates, realms, sense-bases, aggregates of consciousness, the five faculties, and so on, all arise from it. Sound, smell, taste, touch, and desirable qualities, all arise from its continuum. Accumulation, Yama, and so on, and the lack of essence, etc., all arise as its functions and play. The alaya and the appropriation, flesh, blood, pus, bones, skin, hair, and the accumulated body, all arise from it. Thus it is. At that time, the six kinds of ignorance also arise naturally. "Self-Arisen" says: Ignorance is like this: the root ignorance of the mind, the ignorance of the confused object, the ignorance of the ground of confusion, the ignorance of grasping awareness, the ignorance of fabricated paths, and the ignorance of unknowing bewilderment. Thus, the six kinds of ignorance arise, and one does not see one's own appearance. That is, the root ignorance of the mind is the truly co-emergent one, confused by not knowing the wisdom of self-awareness, and the appearance of wisdom arises in me.
