I, the Jewel of Merit. The way merit manifests is like this: Wisdom merges into wisdom itself, self-nature merges into itself. The grasping, discriminating, remembering, and thinking of consciousness, in their own equal state, all dissolve into the emptiness of their nature, non-dually pacified. The appearances of individual wisdoms also, in the center of uncreated emptiness, are pacified without ceasing. That itself merges into itself, all the various plays of wisdom, merging into their own original face, like a baby entering its mother's embrace. One is certain of one's own wisdom, one's own self-nature is pacified. This is also the Jewel of Merit. Again, the way merit dissolves: Body merges into body itself, all forms, in the great non-conceptual, are pacified without appearance. The elements gathered by the gross, and the ignorance etc. grasped by the subtle, are pacified without distinction. The bodies merging into their own face, the arising of consciousness does not leak outwards, like the shape of a vase, the inner clarity and outer scattering, abide in a state of no self-nature. This is also the Jewel of Merit. Again, such merit as this: Non-duality merging into non-duality itself, all clinging to enumeration, in the one, free from elaboration, even in the manner of two people becoming one, are pacified in self-merging. The appearance of duality merges into itself, like a river merging into a river, merging and indistinguishable, pacified in the great indivisibility. This is also the Jewel of Merit. Unobstructed merit is like this: The liberation of the limit merges into the liberation of the limit, self-nature merges into itself, all the self-continuum clinging to the three bodies, the bodies are exhausted and pacified. The self-purification of the limit merges into itself, like space merging into space, merging and unidentifiable, the conceptual clinging of the four extremes naturally ceases, pacified in the great non-abiding. This is also the Jewel of Merit. The merit of appearance is like this: In the impure samsara, the door of self-entry, into the pure door of the essence of self-nature, merges in a way that does not go away. Like the ropes of a tent, naturally gathering in the center by being tightened, the objects of the senses are pacified. This itself is the Jewel of Merit. In this way, merit being perfectly complete, the door of pure wisdom itself, merges into itself in the essence of self-nature, body and wisdom are pacified. Like a lion seizing a snow mountain, the irreversible, fearless confidence.

are found. This is also a precious quality. Thus, regarding how qualities arise, in the place of wisdom that abides as one, without seeking, one finds oneself, from the beginning, that is its own nature. Thus it is said. This principle is a difficult point of the Secret Essence, although it is clearly stated in the tantras and instructions, in Tibet, there has never been anyone who could even ask about it. Therefore, I have explained it very clearly, so that in the future, if anyone understands this key point, they should know that it is due to the power of this text. Secondly, there are three ways in which Kuntuzangpo is liberated: the way of liberation in the moment of seeing the ground appearance, the way of abiding in the expanse after liberation, and the way of performing benefit for others from that. The first is: From the initial expanse, the inner sound arises outward, and as soon as compassion and awareness arise as a condition for self-ignorance, when one looks back at the ground appearance, in the moment of recognizing that it is one's own appearance, ignorance is self-purified, and the spontaneously accomplished appearance of the ground dissolves inward, abiding in its own place on the ground of primordial purity. That is, in a moment, one distinguishes self-appearance, and in a moment, one becomes a Buddha, and the teachers who came before, in the Refutation, it is said: Thus, samsara and nirvana have no beginning or end, the Buddha is not deluded, by the power that transcends the ground, one knows that self-appearance is without self-nature, the thoughts and minds do not scatter outward, the movement is self-determined. Thus it is said. In the Root Tantra of the Intentional Utterance, it is said: At that time, Kuntuzangpo, with the six dharmas, destroys the six ignorances of the ground consciousness, from just a moment, the mind is empty, just a moment of awareness arises, awareness also ceases, with a sala sound, it is clear, darkness is gone, with a wala sound, it arises, there is no dimness, free from exaggeration and denigration, ignorance is purified, unchanging like the sky. Again, Vajrasattva, listen, delusion and ignorance are destroyed, the unpredicted is self-destroyed and empty, distinguishing between matter and awareness, one meets the ground, therefore the darkness of ignorance is dispelled, like the sun rising on Mount Potala. Thus it is said. In the Tantra of the Self-Arisen Bliss Wheel, it is said: From just a moment, awareness arises, with a wala sound, it is clear and free from exaggeration and denigration. Thus it is said. In the Illusion, it is said: In a single moment, one distinguishes, in a single moment, one becomes completely enlightened. Thus it is said. Although it is said that Kuntuzangpo did not do even a particle of good, but became enlightened from the ground, when examined, recognizing one's own face is the uncontaminated self-
