Furthermore, since it does not acknowledge outward gross manifestations, it is liberated from the extreme of permanence. Since it considers inward subtle manifestations, it is liberated from the extreme of annihilation. Thus, the self-arisen wisdom, free from extremes, is not established in anything due to its empty essence. The nature of luminosity, the manner of appearance, does not cease. Compassion is all-pervasive and does not cease, therefore it serves as the basis for whatever arises. The basis, the nature of reality, is the intrinsic state. Secondly, there are two ways to elaborate on the individual aspects: elaborating from the perspective of the emptiness of essence, and elaborating from the perspective of the appearance of nature. The first is: depending on the negation of primordial purity, which is not established as an entity or characteristic, there is no knowledge, no ignorance, no Buddha, no sentient being, no samsara, no past, no light, no color, no body, no wisdom, no basis, no path, no result, no one is deluded, no liberation, no bondage, no freedom, no karma, no affliction, no wind, no elements, no being, no non-being, no what, no anything, nothing is established or fixated upon. It is taught that the affirming dharma is abandoned by the negating dharma alone. In 'Glorious and Beautiful' it says: 'It is called the great primordial purity, the place where the truly pure Buddha has not arisen, and impure sentient beings have not arisen. It is called the great primordial state where knowledge has not moved.' It cannot be expressed, it cannot be measured, it cannot be fixated upon, it cannot be gauged, it cannot be counted, it cannot be determined by anything, it cannot be symbolized, it cannot be made an object of knowledge. Therefore, it does not see samsara, and samsara does not see it. It does not practice dharma, and dharma does not understand its meaning. It is not samsara, it is not nirvana, it is not the basis, it is not appearance, it is not darkness, it is not the path, there is no going, there is no not going, it is not the result, it is not abandonment, it is not attainment. It is called the great expanse of knowledge.' And in the 'Tantra Without Letters' it says: 'In my self-arisen wisdom, there is no object of investigation. There is no past, no future, and nothing appears in the present. There is no karma, no habitual tendencies, no ignorance, no mind, no intellect, no wisdom, no samsara, no nirvana, knowledge itself also exists.'
