It is desired to fall. The second case is that if it is spontaneously accomplished from the beginning, then samsara will always revolve, so it should not be liberated, because it is spontaneously accomplished. Nirvana will also not depend on the conditions of knowing one's own nature, etc., because it is spontaneously accomplished in Nirvana from the beginning. It is also unreasonable to say that the basis of the two is spontaneously accomplished, because if it is spontaneously accomplished, it will not change, so samsara and nirvana should not arise. Or anyone will be liberated effortlessly, because cause and effect are originally spontaneously accomplished. If so, cause and effect will become simultaneous. If you admit it, then when the cause is samsara, it is clear that the result is not nirvana. If the two are one, then samsara will become nirvana, and nirvana will become samsara, because the two are one. If you admit it, then it is not allowed to be different, because it is clear that purity and impurity are mixed together. Those and other faults exist. In the Six Spaces it says: The various bases of spontaneous accomplishment are not the real bases. If they were, it would become like this: These sentient beings, through effort, will not be liberated, because they are defiled by ignorance. If it is said that liberation comes from having wisdom, then will the result not become liberation? For example, black coal cannot be turned white with cleaning agents. Because cause and effect are different, or it is not spontaneously accomplished. Similarly, if cause and effect are one, then all efforts become unnecessary. Therefore, the basis called spontaneous accomplishment, is the meaning able to be established or not? Samantabhadra said to me, the great bodhisattva said by the teacher, just as you understand, this is only the object of knowledge, not the real nature. So it is said. The second case also presents the view: because the nature is not established, it is uncertain, because it is changed by conditions, it is uncertain. In the Mind Section it says: The various uncertain names, the meaning is also merely imputed and empty. Because the nature is uncertain, whatever is imputed appears as such. So it is said. The second refutation is: if it is one, then not being one is directly contradictory, and it will be harmed by the reason of different kinds of things. If the basis is uncertain, that is the source of samsara, then because it is certain at that time, it is clear with one's own words. If it is the basis of nirvana, it is also clear. Also, that basis is pure.

Because it is not impure, it contradicts the belief that it is uncertain and alternating. Moreover, if it becomes impure after being pure, that would be too much, because there is no uncertain basis on the ground. Furthermore, samsara and nirvana would be confused with each other, because the ground is uncertain, so it can become anything. If you admit that, then sentient beings will be liberated effortlessly, and the Buddha will revert to being impure and experience suffering. Moreover, that ground would become definite, because it is certain that you will insist that it is indefinite. There are many such faults. In the Sixth Space, it says: The ground of uncertainty is taught, This also cannot be established as the ground itself, This is how I understand it. Is the result alternating? Or will it become reversible? The uncertain becomes certain, The uncertain becomes certain. One's own uncertainty exists in oneself, If it is certain, like the four extremes of karma. Is this not all that is to be known? The Buddha taught it that way. That's how it is. Thirdly, the accepted view is also expressed: The essence is unchanging, like space. The appearance cannot be changed, like fire and water, it is believed to be certain. Secondly, refuting it: Because there is nothing in the essence and the appearance cannot be changed, it is unreasonable for samsara to arise from that ground, and no one can be liberated. If nirvana has existed from the beginning, then there is no difference from the eternalists, and it contradicts the belief that it is liberated from causes and conditions. Even if you believe that the essence of samsara is nirvana, so it will not change. If the essence is nirvana, then there is no need for liberation, just as the heat of fire does not need to be changed now. If you say that it needs to be changed in the mind's appearance, then it contradicts the fact that the appearance cannot be changed. If it is the appearance of samsara, not the appearance of the ground, then that ground will become dualistic, because if it is separate from the ground, there will be the appearance of samsara. Moreover, if you believe that it is certain after realization, then it cannot be the ground, because there is an object of realization before realization, and then the mind of realization arises, so realization does not depend on the ground. Even if the ground depends on the mind of realization, it must exist before realization, this is universal. If it is the ground even if it is not realized, then how do you know it is the ground? If the mind knows, then the statement that it is the ground even if it is not realized disappears. Such faults are also pointed out. In the Sixth Space, it says: The ground of certainty is taught, This also
