Oh, person without existence! This touches my body. When does strong attachment to greed, hatred, and delusion arise? My awareness is then without discrimination. This itself liberates itself, my eyes see this. When the mind's thoughts appear outward, for the sake of my obscurations being naturally purified. If there is no subsequent cutting off of this, all my sounds are heard by this. When the collection of thoughts and concepts gathers, my non-conceptual samadhi is excellent. If there is no thought of attachment to this, all my smells are sensed by this. When the coarse form enters the mind, it is because my experience arises. When one and two are exhausted in this, this tastes my flavors. Thus, all that appears and all that is heard, is said to be the play of Kuntuzangpo (普贤). Because the manifestation of play does not cease, my qualities naturally arise. The manifestation of qualities is only this much, it will not be exhausted, there is no end. Therefore, it is the realm of the three bodies and mudras.

This is to protect it. If you do not understand this key point, you will mistakenly think that looking at the two, abiding and arising, is the nature of meditation. Merely the mind abiding is like a deity of meditative absorption, and merely arising is like ordinary conceptual thought, so even if you meditate on that, it is difficult to hope to attain Buddhahood. Here, no matter when, protect the naked aspect of awareness, which is transparent like a crystal ball, as long as it has not become the expanse. Once it has become the expanse, then abide in that state without separating from it. The meaning of Trekchö is to understand that awareness is naked and clear, and to protect it loosely, so this key point is very important and should be recognized. As it is also said in the wordless teachings: Without mind-holding, without view or meditation, the Dharmakaya is an object. If the three skills of view are mastered, appearance is the expanse of the Dharmakaya. If there is no activity or distraction, the nature of reality is the place of bliss. If you sit alone in stillness, the three skills will arise from within. If you recognize the present moment as a friend, you will be in a state of single pointedness. If you abide in that continuously, what is there to do with it? All great appearances abide in truth. The essence of secret mantra is that very thing. So it is. The third meaning, binding complete liberation into the Great Equality, has two aspects: the general presentation of the state of complete liberation, and its specific enumeration of categories. The first has two aspects: essence and division. The essence is to identify the meaning of naked awareness, and when it abides, to spread it out flat in its place of abiding; when it arises, to clarify and separate it in its place of arising, so that it vanishes on its own, without trace, and is completely transparent. As it says in *Transcending Thought*: "Mind does not move from one thought. Appearance is clear on appearance. Like a face and a mirror, liberation is that and that itself is liberated. Knowing moves, vanishes into emptiness, seeing is not a different awareness. That itself is liberated in its own place. Because one knows, all are liberated. The limit of the numbers two and three is exhausted. The object of thought and grasping does not appear. Movement and grasping are empty from the beginning. Because the intention of emptiness is clear and complete, the limit of many numbers is exhausted." So it says. And as it says in *The Great Garuda*: "All dharmas are free from elaboration and without impurity, this key point of unmade self-liberation is extremely important. The key point of the cessation of cause, the vanishing of conditions, and the exhaustion of result, not relying on anything, one liberation is the expanse itself. The meaning of being free from conduct, meditation being pure, without anything to look at, is that appearances are left in their own place without fabrication, and are liberated." So it says. Appearance on appearance
