In the appearance of ..., also together with the five primordial sounds, it exists in a naturally descending manner. In the essence of the manifestors, it also exists separately from objects. So it is said. The door is: In that itself, the eyes of sentient beings, unclouded by conditions, from the door called "Cakṣu" (ཙཀྵུ,चक्षु,cakṣu,Eye), also like the mandala of the sun, in its own light and rays, appear as self-nature. So it is said. Self-nature is: The self-appearance of primordial purity, self-appearing without being made by anyone. In that itself: The great primordial purity from the beginning, self-nature is like this, self-illuminating without being made by anyone, from the very beginning it is self-nature. So it is said. The measure is: The measure of being accustomed to appearing in the sky during practice. In "The Blazing Lamp": Without expansion and contraction of the bindu, whoever grasps it in the intermediate space, it becomes its measure. So it is said. The real is: The red and yellow light that appears when the eyes are closed, that is it. Moreover, the appearances of the six realms are: Gods have an outward appearance that can be seen, among which the desire realm gods are their own height, the form realm beings are their own cubit. Asuras are divided into two types, those belonging to the god lineage have extremely bright light, one hand span; others are small as four fingers; humans are one thumb length; animals are only as large as their own location, with nothing visible. Pretas have a thin and twisted self, like a sesame seed; hell beings are only as large as their own location, like a horse's tail or an even smaller sesame tip. In "Self-Arisen": For all unenlightened sentient beings, it can be compared to humans. Gods can be seen. Asuras are small. Animals are only as large as their own location. Pretas are twisted. The place of hell is like a sesame seed. So it is said. In "The Blazing Lamp": The bindu of five lights combined, for gods it is their own height, it is round, self-luminous, and great. Asuras are their own hand span. Humans are their own thumb length, it is round and without leakage. Animals are invisible. Pretas have a thin self. Hell beings only have their own light. Gods appear mostly white. Asuras are also mostly green. Humans appear red and bright, without self-attachment. Animals appear mostly blue. Pretas also appear yellow. Hell beings have five colors, abiding in the realm of self-luminous awareness. The real lamp is like that.

Thus it is said. From the "Lion's Complete Skill Sutra": In the Joyful Realm (Tushita Heaven), it resides one cubit long. In the Realm of Strife, it resides four fingers long. In the Realm of Equality, it is one inch long. In the Realm of Doubling, it is just self-illuminating. In the Realm of Hunger, it is the size of a sesame seed. In the Realm of Suffering, it is the size of a horse's tail. Thus it is explained to reside. Likewise, the Sambhogakaya of the Buddha is immeasurable, and the Bodhisattva residing on the bhumis is one arrow-length, and the Nirmanakaya is one fathom long. Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and the two kinds of deities, appear in their own perceived realms, but if not shown to the five types of beings such as humans, they cannot be seen. Also, in the same text: Buddhas are immeasurable. Bodhisattvas are one arrow-length. The Nirmanakaya resides one fathom long. Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Nirmanakayas, and deities, appear in the manifest realm. Those below them, in the five realms, cannot be seen unless shown. Thus it is said. For example, in the "Pearl Rosary": For example, like the plumage of a peacock. And in the "Burning Lamp": For example, it is like the plumage of a peacock. Likewise, like the eyes of the subtle, or like the eyes of a fish, or like the eyes of an animal thief, it resides in these ways. Thus it is said. The key to practice is, from "Going Beyond Extremes": Flickering the lamp of bindu is the key. The root and thumb-index finger not separated, wisdom increases. Thus it is said. In the same previous text: With one's own thumb and index finger, pressing the eye socket and corner, it will appear manifestly with faith. Thus it is said. Third, the extensive explanation of the lamp of the pure realm, which includes fourteen aspects: essence, definition, characteristic, division, basis, nature, object, purpose, measure, place, gate, reality, example, and key. The essence is that which makes the object definite, from the "Burning Lamp": The lamp of the pure realm gathers the essence of awareness, appearing as a fence of continuous beads. Whoever is familiar with this, the meaning is in that itself. Azure, unchanging, self-luminous, residing in the fence of the circumference, self-luminous, appearing in the external object, the essence itself is unconditioned. Thus it is said. The definition is, from the same text: In the phenomena appearing as objects, purity exhausts the number of defilements, the realm becomes the self-object of awareness, Vajra itself is the continuous beads.
