Whether or not it transcends all thoughts and expressions, whether or not it dispels the illusion of subject and object, whether or not it realizes the view of awareness. Because there are no actions or objects of action in the present awareness, in this naked emptiness of non-action, there is no way to adorn it with any dharma. As it says in 'Awareness Self-Liberated': 'In the essence of true and real awareness, there is no awareness of doing and being done. For the root of straying through clinging, there is no rejection or establishment on the path. There is no dependent awareness, no clinging to boundaries or limitations.' And as it says in 'Garland of Pearls': 'Because there is no creation or arising, from the very beginning it is free from doing and being done.' Therefore, realizing the state of non-action and complete cessation in the mind is to transcend the focus, thought, expansion, and contraction of the mind. In the meaning of dharmata, whether or not you meditate, because there is no acceptance or rejection, whether or not you examine, whether or not the result of reality is achieved, whether or not you walk the grounds and paths. Because the essence of awareness is empty and clear, unpolluted by dharma, you should not examine dharmas such as 'this is it.' As it says in 'Without Letters': 'It is not a manifestor, it is separate from the aspect of manifestation; it is not an obscurer, it transcends the dharma of obscuration; it is not diminishing, it pervades the ten directions without obstruction; it is not diligent, it is separate from the dharma of diligence and accomplishment; it is not one, it is separate from the dharma of multiplicity.' And as it says in 'The All-Creating King': 'The unconditioned nature is the dharmata of all things, there is no other Buddha apart from dharmata, Buddha is just a name. The function of dharmata is not other, it is self-mind, self-mind unconditioned is said to be the dharmakaya. Because the unconditioned is originally unborn, the meaning of unborn cannot be sought or cultivated. Seeking and cultivating will not accomplish non-action.' Because awareness is unobstructed emptiness, realizing that there is no abandonment or attainment. Whether or not you are free from all obscurations, whether or not the dharmata of generation and completion is perfected, whether or not you attain the fruit of liberation, whether or not you wander in the six realms of samsara. Because there is no abandonment or attainment, no liberation or delusion in the essence of awareness, now there is no longer any expectation of attaining anything from the Buddha, therefore you do not cultivate the path of generation and completion. Nor are you afraid of wandering in samsara, therefore you do not remedy its cause—sins and obscurations, you do not make confession. Because there is no action and no dharma, karma is exhausted.

Because of being at ease with the mind without abandoning or attaining samsara and nirvana. As it says in the "Pearl Rosary": From the ground up, there is no dharma that arises from elsewhere, From the beginning, there is only one self-arising. Because the numbers of one and two are exhausted, The bindu is separated from the moon. Because darkness is pure from the beginning, The light of awareness pervades clearly. Because samsara has ceased without cause, It is the state of self-enlightened Buddha from the beginning. Because the objects of signs are empty, The mind of self-grasping is exhausted from the beginning. Thus it is. Because of realizing that dharma is exhausted, liberation is vast, and it is completely open, one does not care about anything and is in a state of natural freedom. Whether self-nature is spontaneously accomplished or not, Whether clinging to the two extremes of permanence and annihilation or not bound, Whether one attains the meaning of dharmata or not, Whether one follows the predecessors or not, Now there is no difference in this state of awareness. There is nothing to do with dharma. Even if done, it is not dharma. Existence and non-existence ultimately come to an end. Being and non-being reside in the mind. View and meditation reside in speech. Dharmata resides in the place of error. Samsara and nirvana reside in awareness. Awareness resides in transparency. Transparency resides in nakedness. The knowledge of natural freedom has become vast and unobstructed liberation. If thought, it is conceptualization. If meditated, it is mind. If spoken, it is words. If looked at, it is grasping and the grasped. If placed, it is dharmata. If done, it is samsara. If arisen, it is self-arising. The knowledge of natural, sky-like freedom has become joyful and expansive. It cannot be grasped by doing. It cannot be seen by looking. It cannot be liberated by meditating. It cannot be accomplished by searching. It cannot be liberated by releasing. It cannot be grasped by holding. The knowledge of dharma exhaustion and namelessness has become nakedly transparent. There is no gap between samsara and nirvana. There is no trace in transparency. There is no limit in self-arising. There is no dharma in self-liberation. There is no name in dharma exhaustion. There is no concern in view and meditation. There is no mind in self-awareness. There is no limit in naturalness. There is no basis in arising and ceasing. The self-luminous, unobstructed knowledge has become directly penetrating and without discrimination. Liberated from the place of arising. Empty from the place of appearance. Vanished from the place of movement. Not from the place of being. Is from the place of not being. Non-existent from the place of existence. Existent from the place of non-existence. Changing from the place of abiding. Abiding from the place of movement. The naturally unobstructed knowledge has become a continuous stream of contemplation. Even if one meditates on existence, it is impossible to be permanent. Even if one meditates on non-existence, it is impossible to be annihilated. Even if one looks at existence and non-existence, one will not fall into extremes. Even if being and non-being arise, one will not draw boundaries. Even if happiness and suffering appear, one will not continue the traces. Even if one awakens to dharmata, the mind will not intervene. Even if one is liberated without obstruction, one will not protect one's nature. No bound
