The illusion of days turning into months, and months into years, leads beings astray. The groundless awareness Dharmakaya, pure like the sky, although abiding within oneself, remains unrecognized, merely a sudden circumstance. As the "Pearl Rosary" states: "The Dharmakaya is like the sky, suddenly obscured by clouds of thoughts. The nature of non-illusion also appears as illusion in the mind. With causes and conditions, it is momentary." And as the "Precious Rosary" states: "The three paths have no beginning, end, or middle. The wheel of samsara is like a firebrand's wheel. Mutually dependent, this conditioned thing becomes samsara." Thus, beings cling to the self-nature of illusion, while the same appearance is seen by yogis as merely a play of illusion. This is due to the key point that illusion is groundless and rootless. This self-nature of awareness is primordially pure, beyond illusion and non-illusion, like the sky. Its self-appearance is the self-luminous, purely clear Dharmakaya, called the groundless, perfectly pure great appearance. Its essence is not established in awareness or non-awareness, samsara or nirvana, but remains empty in the present moment. The yogi realizes this and does not stray from this state. Therefore, the illusion of external objects, like illusory empty forms, is purified in the realm of the ground appearance, the nature of reality. This is called a yogi whose samsara is nameless and pure like the sky. As the "Pearl Rosary" states: "Although objects appear as such, in the primordial purity, the name of illusion cannot be spoken. Likewise, what is non-illusion? Therefore, illusion is originally pure. In that great ground appearance, the name of ignorance is not established, therefore there is no establishment of illusion. Since it is not universally labeled as mind, there is no name of defiled illusion. Since there is no accumulation of names and letters, there is no imputed illusion. Since it is not named as dharma, there is no name of conceptually constructed illusion. Since it is not established as mind and intellect, there is no moving illusion. Since there are no subtle or coarse defilements, there is no arising illusion. Since there is no agent or action, where is the illusion of object clinging? Since there are no objects or senses, there is no illusion of grasper and grasped." And as the "Refutation" states: "Illusion is pure from the beginning, establishing it as non-illusion.

There is no place. There is no appearance, no visible dharma. Fabricated arising thoughts naturally cease. It is not that it appears as an object due to delusion. Since the primordial sound of self-nature has not moved, all dharmas are equally of one taste. Free from grasping thoughts, one is primordially enlightened. It cannot be embellished or changed. Thus. Thus, when one realizes that external objects are non-existent, and the nature of reality, free from grasping, is as pure as the sky, establishing the inner grasping as baseless and without support is as follows: When a yogi looks inward with a pure mind, the rootless awareness is free from names. Representation is unseen, view and meditation are exhausted in order. It is relaxed, free, vast, and evenly spread. Not knowing practice, there are no session breaks or biases. Everything is unrestrained, completely free, without interruption. Thus, looking at one's own mind, its essence transcends the limits of what can be grasped, and awakening in the rootless nature of the sky is called the Dharmakaya, the nature of self-purifying memory, free from the extremes of existence and non-existence. In the Uttaratantra, it is said: Where could the root of all dharmas, which are without foundation, exist? The mind free from existence and desire, uncreated by nature, transcends words. The thoughts of doing and acting, which are delusions, cease. There is no dharma, no Buddha, and no sentient beings. There is no I, no self, no grasping and no grasper. It cannot be expressed in words, and there is not even a place where the mind dwells. Because it is non-existent, in the appearance of emptiness, the source of memory and awareness is exhausted. In the uncreated nature of reality, the absence of arising is very wonderful. In the unborn Dharmakaya, the absence of going and coming is very wonderful. In the awareness without a place of wandering, the nature of reality is without a place of arising. Thus. Realizing that awareness, in which the grasped and the grasper are not two, is the great spontaneously accomplished, without direction, as follows: Without attachment to body, place, and appearance, in the vast expanse of the sky, equally and evenly spread, there is no grasping of the inner dharma as self. Wherever one realizes that there is no grasping and no grasper, the essence of that awareness, although named as self-born wisdom, is not desired to be self-knowing and self-illuminating like the Yogacara-cittamatrins, because there is no inner or outer, it is not established as the inner mind, because there is no self or other, it is not established as only self-awareness, because there has never been a grasper and a grasped, it is not established as being separate from those two, because it is not in the realm of feeling and awareness, it is not established as the absence of two experiences, mind and mental events are not
