It is knowledge. The root of mind lies in wisdom, and in the gaps there is the radiance or ability of wisdom, so one must recognize one's own nature as wisdom in relation to time. If one does not recognize it, it is called impurity. Because there is a difference between the nature of awareness and its ability, one should distinguish between mind and wisdom. Furthermore, combining the three vehicles of the causal vehicle into one, plus the three: Kriya, Upa, and Yoga, making four, and the two: Maha and Anu, making six, are all shown to be detours on the path of the Great Perfection. As it says in the Kunje Gyalpo Tantra: "The six vehicles that have attained certainty, are shown to be detours on the path of the Great Perfection." What are they like? The Sutra of the Bodhisattva, considers the ground of all light, with the conceptualization of the two truths, the nature of reality is considered emptiness like space. The great bliss of Ati Yoga, is the Bodhicitta beyond conceptualization, the Sutra obscures that which is beyond conceptualization. Conceptualization and speculation in Dzogchen, are said to be detours in the Sutras. Kriya desires Vajradhara, enters the three doors of purity, and abides in the pure realm of grasping and being grasped. The great bliss of Ati Yoga, is the Bodhicitta beyond grasping and being grasped, Kriya obscures that which is beyond grasping and being grasped. Grasping and being grasped in Dzogchen, are said to be detours in Kriya. The view and conduct of Upaya, practices Kriya and cultivates Yoga, because the view and conduct have no related meaning, therefore one does not realize the meaning of non-duality. The great bliss of Ati Yoga, is the non-dual Bodhicitta, Upa obscures that which is non-dual. Duality in Dzogchen, is said to be a detour in Upaya. Yoga desires dense arrangement, enters the door of existence and non-existence, mainly practices the four mudras, and cannot enter that which is without acceptance or rejection. The great bliss of Ati Yoga, is the Bodhicitta without acceptance or rejection, Yoga obscures that which is without acceptance or rejection. Acceptance and rejection in Dzogchen, are said to be detours in Yoga. Maha desires Vajradhara, enters the door of skillful means and wisdom, and in the self-continuum pure mandala, one practices with the four modes of accomplishment. The great bliss of Ati Yoga, is the Bodhicitta beyond effort and practice, Maha obscures that which is beyond effort and practice. Effort and practice in Dzogchen, are said to be detours in Maha Yoga. Anu desires the ground of non-difference, Dharmadhatu and wisdom.

After entering the mandala, all phenomena that appear in this way, the cause is like the pure realm of reality, the result is like the mandala of wisdom. The great bliss of Ati Yoga is the bodhicitta that transcends cause and effect. Transcending cause and effect is obscured by Anu. If one views both cause and effect in Dzogchen, it is said to be lost in Anu Yoga. Thus it is said. The meaning of self-nature Ati is: the great Dharma without acceptance or rejection, without effort, the essence of self-born wisdom bodhicitta, its essence is direct and unwavering, manifesting, so there is no need to strive elsewhere. Abiding in oneself, do not seek elsewhere. This spontaneously accomplished Vajra Essence, its own doctrine is that awareness is without fabrication, unwavering from the state of Dharma, and is considered the Buddha of the Dharmakaya basis. If one seeks outside of that, one will not find the Buddha. Buddha is only a name, but in meaning, it is considered that the essence of awareness without change is only abiding in emptiness. As the Great Garuda says: The self-appearance without cause and free from conditions is immaculate. Effortless, unique, uncreated by anyone. Primordial perfection, the essence spontaneously present, enjoys the realm. Thus it is said. As the Garland of Pearls says: The perfect Buddha is self-knowing. Thus it is said. As the Kunjed Gyalpo Tantra says: Do not look for the Buddha, realize your own mind is unmade. If examined, it does not exist, but self-knowing is primordially clear. Thinking this is not it, in the cause and effect Mahayana, with abandonment, obstruction, practice, blessings, and various kinds, one deviates from the unmade nature of one's own mind. Abiding in oneself, do not seek far away. In the unmade bliss, accept effort. Meaningless fatigue, there is no greater disease than that. Thus it is said. Showing the difference between the two vehicles is: this is the meaning of the essence of the sun itself, it is considered to abide in oneself, luminous and unmoving. Others show that the sun is primordially accomplished by the effort of clearing clouds and darkness. Therefore, the difference between these two is like heaven and earth. This spontaneously accomplished Vajra Essence, this essence of awareness itself is the primordially accomplished Buddha, like the actual existence of the sun. Others are like thinking that the primordial sun can be seen from the cause and conditions of removing clouds and darkness. It is thought that Buddhahood can be achieved at the end of cause, condition, and effort. Contradicting spontaneous accomplishment, therefore those vehicles contradict each other in their respective treatises.
