Ma. From this, the sprouts of the six signs of evil are: envying those who have merit and are busy; speaking ill of former practitioners; becoming angry when seeing the perfections of others; satirizing those who have loving-kindness and altruism; cursing those who have attained accomplishments in practice; holding onto the wrong views of ignorance. The six faults of associating with such evil people are: merely seeing them diminishes renunciation and faith; merely hearing them distances one from the path of liberation; merely remembering them plants the seeds of samsara; merely touching them loses blessings and accomplishments; merely conversing with them diminishes pure appearances and devotion; the extent of connection through Dharma is blessed by demons. After death, one will go to the Avici Hell. Therefore, abandon such evil people. Showing the six natures of evil is: regarding Dharma, worse than ordinary people; regarding entering the Dharma, worse than evil people; regarding Mahayana, worse than non-Buddhists; regarding Tantra, worse than those with wrong desires; regarding practice, worse than sinners; regarding view and meditation, like heaven and earth. They are thieves of the Buddhist teachings, pretending to be Dharma, leading faithful people to wrong paths and lower realms, so abandon them. The six disharmonies that cannot accomplish the Dharma are: even if there is bodhicitta, if there is no aspiration, the seeds of purifying the form body cannot be planted; even if there is compassion, if self-cherishing is not ceased, one cannot enter the ranks of Mahayana altruistic actions; even if one is compliant, if the time has not come, one cannot accomplish altruism, but instead becomes a cause for quarrels; even if one dwells in a solitary place, if the mind has not transformed, it is difficult to cut off attachment and aversion; even if one recites countless prayers without faith, the nature of blessings will not drop a single rain; even if one is knowledgeable, if one has not been liberated from elaboration, one will be bound in the prison of sectarianism, unable to distinguish samsara and nirvana. Therefore, cherish the union of oral instructions. The six necessities for practitioners are: fearing samsara like being chased by the god of death; diligently cultivating virtue like a farmer plowing; applying antidotes like a patient taking medicine; taking on altruism like parents raising children; skillfully taming one's own mind like a skilled leather craftsman; killing the enemy of self-grasping like a murderer taking out human flesh. These necessities should always be kept in mind. Taming one's own mind with six ultimates

Regarding taming: The ultimate for a prisoner is abandoning attachment to their homeland, The ultimate for a farmer is relying on diligence in virtue, The ultimate permanent home is holding the ground of reality, The ultimate protection is abandoning clinging and cherishing. The ultimate enemy is subduing the five poisons in one's own mindstream, The ultimate practice is maintaining unwavering mindfulness. If you possess these, your wishes will be fulfilled as desired. The six dangers of falling for practitioners are: Although having faith, if you don't abandon profit and fame, Ultimately, there is a danger of losing human dharma, be cautious. Although relying on a monastery, if you don't have determination, Ultimately, there is a danger of falling into distraction, be cautious. Although signs of accomplishment arise, if you don't abandon arrogance, Ultimately, there is a danger of being taken by demons, be cautious. Although gathering with Dharma brothers and sisters, if you don't have compassion, Ultimately, there is a danger of your activities going astray, be cautious. Although your view is high, if you don't turn away from attachment, Ultimately, there is a danger of falling into laziness, be cautious. Although diligently working for the benefit of others, if self-interest is mixed in, Ultimately, there is a danger of becoming hypocritical, be cautious. The reason for abandoning the six obscurations is: Not holding the sacred Dharma is an obscuration of abandonment, Not knowing what is the work of demons is an obscuration, Not having devotion to the Guru is an obscuration, Not having pure perception of Dharma friends is an obscuration, Slandering those who have entered the Great Vehicle is an obscuration, Misdeeds of body, speech, and mind, deceitfulness, are obscurations. Having abandoned these, cherish practicing the path to liberation. The six dharmas that are free from obscurations and of immeasurable value are: Without expecting a return, giving impartial generosity, Without pursuing worldly affairs, guarding pure morality, Without abandoning sentient beings, generating love and compassion, Knowing the sacred Dharma, never being satisfied, Without seeking gain and honor, teaching the Dharma to beings, Without being partisan, equally holding good intentions for all. Such excellent conduct is sublime. The six qualities of the Great Vehicle's teachings are: Not being lazy in relying on a spiritual friend, Not being weary in working for the benefit of sentient beings, Not being arrogant even when realizing the nature of reality, Abandoning gain and honor that do not lead to meaning, Not being afraid of the profound meaning, Not being content in accumulating merit. The six dharmas for destroying the great enemy of afflictions are: A few days of virtuous activity do not distinguish afflictions, Therefore, cherish continuing practice without impatience, Since beginningless afflictions are extremely difficult to tame, Antidote
