The six practices to be undertaken are: Although wealthy, one is deceived by meaningless things, therefore strive to practice. Although hearing, it is lost due to words, therefore strive to practice. Although knowing, the essence is lost, therefore strive to practice. Although thinking, conceptual thoughts arise, therefore strive to practice. Although speaking, the meaning is missed, therefore strive to practice. If not practiced, it will not manifest, therefore strive to practice. The six practices for abandoning samsara and training the mind are: Abandon worldly affairs due to meaningless deception. Abandon attachment to desirable qualities due to increasing craving. Abandon evil plans due to lack of essence. Abandon attachment to wealth and possessions by abandoning everything. Abandon the sorrow of relatives and friends because compounded things will separate. Completely abandon the root of attachment and aversion, grasping and clinging. If these are abandoned, the sacred Dharma will naturally be accomplished. The six practices for generating certainty in cause and effect are: Listen to the scriptures and have faith in cause and effect. Accumulate the two accumulations with the example of a water drop filling a vase. Abandon evil deeds with the example of a spark burning a forest. Accumulate merit because happiness and suffering are caused by past actions. Learn gradually because the accumulations are not completed at once. Believe that karma exists when self-grasping exists. Abandoning the six faults of the vessel for listening: Like an uncleaned clay pot when the time has not come. Like an overturned vessel that does not turn its ear. Like a vessel with a hole in the bottom that does not hold what is heard. Like a vessel mixed with poison and defiled. Like a vessel that does not go on the path and is stained with dirt. Like a vessel full of arrogance and bad contents. Abandon these faults and listen well. The six qualities of perfect hearing of the sacred Dharma are: Possessing excellent wisdom, seeking meaning, and remaining impartial. Relying on a spiritual friend and knowing that one is not satisfied with hearing. Relying on many, pleasing the wise. Opening various Dharma doors by hearing many things. Repeatedly ascertaining by hearing many things. Hearing, questioning, and debating many things. One will become a holder of a Dharma treasury like the ocean. Then, the six qualities of pure thought are: What meaning does this word indicate? What is the distinction, and what is the summary? What are the categories, and to which aspect do they belong? What is the ultimate practice when summarized? By thinking well, one opens the door to precious Dharma. Then, the six qualities of pure meditation are: Not confused about reality, freed from the extremes of permanence and annihilation. Transformed into the Mahayana path, emptiness and compassion are connected. The nature of reality abides naturally, without dullness, excitement, or distraction. Śamatha and vipaśyanā are united.

The continuity of practice and realization further increases, hope and doubt, grasping and fixation, all objectives and signs are absent. It becomes the antidote to afflictions and obscurations, that meditator goes beyond existence. The six dharmas without being led astray by conditions: Knowing praise and blame as echoes in the rocks, not desiring others' attachment and aversion, one's own actions not conflicting with the Dharma, not accumulating offerings and fruits of generosity, not feigning illness or inciting virtue, pure perception and devotion are continuous, these are the heroes who transform unfavorable conditions. The six dharmas for abandoning defiled evil thoughts: The evil thought of seeking great fame, the evil thought of seeking gain and enjoyment, the thought of grasping appearances as true, the thought of body and speech being driven by desire, the thought of seeking sustenance in this life, the thought of desiring liberation for oneself alone, these arise from the blessings of demons and should be abandoned by the wise. The six dharmas of not following the senses after objects: One's own land is not tainted by the poison of attachment and aversion, not seized by the suffering of self-satisfaction in desirable qualities, not struck by the weapons of the eight worldly concerns, conduct is not stained by the impurity of deceit, not moved by the winds of various distractions, passing days and nights with virtuous Dharma practice, one should enter the conduct of the noble ones. The six dharmas of being able to nourish oneself with faith: With longing faith, supplicate and meditate on the lama, with respectful faith, diligently make offerings to the Three Jewels, with confident faith, practice the meditation and accomplishment of the yidam, with joyful faith, focus on the meaning of the nature of reality, with irreversible faith, transform adverse conditions into helpers, with clinging faith, blend one's own mindstream with the Dharma, therefore, practicing the path of liberation is extremely important. The six dharmas of guarding vows without hypocrisy: Knowing that the root of the teachings is discipline, knowing that the guide to the lower realms is sin, if there is no guarding of vows, the root of the Dharma rots, knowing it as the basis of all qualities, knowing it as the ladder to ascend to higher realms, knowing it as the vehicle to travel to liberation, diligently cherish and protect pure discipline. The six dharmas of overcoming adverse conditions with antidotes: Like the Shravakas, abandoning what is seen as an enemy, like the Paramitas, completely purifying, like the Mantras, transforming into the path with skillful means.
