It is the fourth gate of the excellent path of liberation. Those who wish to practice should abandon six doubts: Abandon the doubt of dissatisfaction, compliant entry, and protection of face; Do not accumulate wealth and possessions out of doubt of lack; Do not abandon external affairs out of doubt of suffering; Do not seek high positions out of doubt of inferiority; Do not abandon human customs and gatherings out of doubt of wrongdoing; Do not disturb the minds of others out of doubt of arrogance. The six boundaries for cutting off the key points of practice are: Without attachment and aversion, it is cutting off the outer boundary; Without hoarding, it is cutting off the inner boundary; Without grasping and clinging, it is cutting off the secret boundary; Hoping for goodness, it is cutting off the upward boundary; Doubtful of evil, it is cutting off the downward boundary; Clinging to actions and agents, it is cutting off the middle boundary; If these six are possessed, obstacles will not arise. The six necessary dharmas for attaining Buddhahood are: The excellent basis for practice, leisure and endowment, is necessary; Without practice, there is no liberation, practice is necessary; Skillfully knowing how to practice is necessary; Understanding the initial hearing is necessary; After hearing, contemplating the essential meaning is necessary; Everything depends on a virtuous friend. The six qualities of a virtuous one are: Having accumulated merit, their lineage is noble and their mind is tamed; Having vast wisdom, they are skilled in the meaning of what is to be known; Having superior wisdom, they realize the nature of reality, free from extremes; Having diligently practiced, signs of realization and accomplishment arise; Having compassion and skillful means, they are tireless in benefiting others; Having the key points of instructions, they are able to guide the path. This is the conduct of a supreme individual, a holy being. The six dharmas that a holy disciple should rely on are: Feeling weary of samsara and disgusted with illusory appearances; Abandoning unnecessary and non-dharmic activities; Abandoning busyness and distractions as if they were enemies; Having no expectation of profit, fame, or praise; Cutting off the ties of relatives and friends; Abandoning attachment and aversion to enemies, friends, near and far; Renouncing worldly affairs and practicing the sacred Dharma. The six dharmas for not losing control to others are: Not being born as a slave, not being subject to the powerless; Not forming a household, without mutual bondage; Not being born into greatness, practicing Dharma as one pleases; Without owing debts or making false claims, practicing freely whenever one remembers; Not making promises that cannot be fulfilled; Not encountering the ocean of bad karma, armies, and suffering. Those who have such freedom should rejoice. Meditating

The six ways of living for practice are: not falling into extremes, having self-sufficient resources; having moderation in food, balancing fullness and hunger; not disturbing the elements, not causing illness; not overeating good food; not consuming too much bad food, avoiding the decline of elements; having moderation in day and night, avoiding eating at inappropriate times. This is a companion for going to the essence of virtuous practice. The six dharmas that encourage diligence are: transforming adverse conditions into impermanence, arising in the continuum; knowing cause and effect, abandoning evil deeds like poison; through devoted faith, seeing the lama as the Buddha; with certainty in the Dharma, generating joy in virtuous practice; with faith in the Sangha, requesting guidance and escort; desiring Buddhahood, doing whatever can be achieved with diligence. This is the way of the fortunate and noble ones. The six dharmas for taming and training one's own mind are: not generating wrong thoughts, not changing one's faith in the Dharma; being able to endure unbearable suffering; seeing the faults of samsara, generating renunciation out of fear; being a good vessel, purifying one's own mind; through extensive hearing and thinking, understanding the supreme Dharma teachings; becoming a vessel for empowerment and profound vows. This seems rarer than a treasure island in the ocean. The six practices that adverse conditions cannot steal are: being able to endure various physical sufferings; being able to control unwholesome speech and meaningless idle talk; being able to endure the pain of good and bad, happiness and suffering in the mind; being able to endure loneliness, fatigue, fear, and dread in solitary places; being able to maintain the antidote without distraction in crowded cities; being able to overcome bad environments and conditions through guarding vows and learning. If one possesses these, the path of Dharma will be easily accomplished. The six ways of integrating the qualities of the path to liberation are: integrating the common Dharma, accomplishing enlightenment in future lives; integrating the Dharma of secret mantra, generating the three kayas on the path; integrating the ultimate essence, cutting off attachment and straying; integrating the Dharma of the Great Vehicle, using whatever one does to benefit others; integrating the Dharma of Hearers and Solitary Realizers, abandoning the activities of samsara. Such a person integrates Dharma and their own mind. The six dharmas that are destroyed by clinging and attachment are: being certain that the six objects are false, is delusion; being certain that actions are meaningless, is delusion; being certain that apparent clinging is deception, is delusion; being certain that fame, praise, and honor are delusion; being certain that enemies and friends are impermanent, is delusion; if one knows there is no true existence, one can pacify the deluded appearances and deluded clinging. Leisure and endowment are meaningful
