Do not associate with those who are devoid of benefiting others and only want to benefit themselves. Do not associate with those who are distracted by accumulating wealth and possessions. Do not associate with those who rely on large retinues, desiring gain, respect, and fame. Associating with the wicked will only make you worse. The six precious qualities that are taught are: When realizing selflessness, cherish compassion for sentient beings. When admiring emptiness, cherish faith in the law of karma. When abiding in peace, cherish not abiding in samsara. When giving generously, cherish not expecting karmic results. When upholding morality, cherish abandoning arrogance. When dwelling in solitude, cherish reducing possessions. If you possess these six, the sacred Dharma will be accomplished properly. The six necessities for relying on the sacred Dharma are: Cultivating wisdom for oneself and others, Cutting off the doubts of those gathered in the retinue, Protecting the teachings and upholding the sacred Dharma, Knowing what to adopt and abandon, reversing the wrong path, Knowing the difference between high and low, entering the profound path, Knowing the ultimate of philosophical tenets, cutting off errors and obscurations. These are the necessities for Dharma speakers to strive for. The six Dharmas for encountering the Buddhas are: Purely upholding the three trainings of morality, Single-pointedly meditating on the body of the Victorious Ones, Constantly striving with devotion, reverence, offerings, and praise, Abandoning distractions of activities, observing the nature of mind, Although without afflictions, taking birth in samsara, Striving diligently without laziness in the direction of virtue. Planting good aspirations with pure intention. If you strive in these six, the Victorious Ones will care for you. The six things not to abandon even at the cost of your life are: Do not abandon the Bodhicitta that perfects the benefit of others. Do not abandon the teachings of the Sage, the sacred Dharma. Do not abandon sentient beings wandering in samsara. Do not abandon the essence of purifying obscurations, the roots of virtue. Do not abandon the Lama and Yidam deities who guide the path. Do not abandon the noble path of the Arya path and the Bhumis. The six Dharmas that become the power of antidotes are: No matter how poor, do not abandon virtuous deeds, No matter how good, do not despise the wicked, Even without encouragement, guide others to liberation, Even if you benefit others, do not expect a reward, Even if others harm you, do not be angry or retaliate, Practicing mindfulness and awareness as antidotes. The six skillful means for accomplishing the Dharma of enlightenment are: View all sentient beings with love and compassion, Know all conditioned phenomena as they are, Although without afflictions, taking birth in samsara

Acceptance. Furthermore, not abandoning benefiting beings, being extremely diligent in desiring the wisdom of the Buddha, knowing all things to be without object like the sky, and dedicating to Bodhi is the skillful means of conduct. The order of teaching the six great means is: the means of transforming small virtue into great virtue, slightly dedicating and rejoicing; the means of accomplishing great merit with little effort, leading other noble relatives into the right path; the means of pacifying others' jealousy and anger, benefiting sentient beings with four harmonious actions; the means of guiding ordinary beings to the right path, speaking pleasant words, giving food, clothing, and possessions; the means of maturing those who have entered the path, guiding their minds according to their wishes, praising the Great Vehicle; the means of liberating those who have matured, teaching the profound and vast essential Dharma. Possessing these, benefiting others is not difficult. The six means of entering the path of discord are: the means of entering harmony through one's own peaceful and gentle behavior, praising others, rejoicing, and entering from there with harmony. If you accomplish the means of proclaiming and filling in accordance with the Dharma, then it is said that you enter the Dharma by accomplishing the favorable conditions of harmony. Discord and strife
