The six dharmas of (a yogi) are: At the time of realization, self-illuminating and clear; at the time of non-thought, unblocked and lively; at the time of appearance, self-illuminating and bright; at the time of grasping and holding, all-illuminating and distinct; at the time of meditative equipoise, free from extremes and clear; at the time of arising, abiding, and being equal, uninterrupted and ha-re. Knowing such key points, the yogi has reached the peak. The six practices that are specially abandoned are: One must abandon fatigue, hunger, thirst, and suffering; one must abandon worldly interactions and farming; one must abandon enemies, friends, attachment, aversion, profit, and fame; one must abandon attachment to the objects of the five senses; one must abandon acceptance and rejection of praise and blame; one must abandon the antidote of memories and thoughts self-liberating. If one possesses these, the path to liberation and enlightenment will be accomplished. Practicing without separating from the six perfections is: Giving, do not give to the enemy of stinginess; discipline, do not let the thief of broken vows destroy it; patience, do not let the weapon of anger wound it; diligence, do not let the chains of laziness bind it; meditation, do not mix it with the poison of distraction; wisdom, do not let the darkness of ignorance obscure it. Thus, abandon these six incompatibilities and practice. Explaining the nature of the six unrelated things is: A person who sees suffering as an ornament has no connection with liberation; a person who acts hypocritically and flatteringly has no connection with emancipation; a person who studies and contemplates for profit and fame has no connection with practice; a person who does not do good and commits evil has no connection with higher realms; a person who is lazy and idle has no connection with realization; a person who has self-grasping, attachment, and aversion has no connection with practice. Cherish yourself, do not be controlled by such unrelated things. The six methods of looking at the mind during meditation are: Sometimes look at the mind, abiding and stable; who knows that the three, arising, ceasing, and abiding, are free from it? It is the key to becoming accustomed to the mind itself gaining freedom. Sometimes look at the self-nature of the experience at that time; who knows that there is no place to abide or cling to? It is the key to the spontaneous appearance of joy and sorrow, realizing non-arising. Sometimes look at the increase of qualities; who knows that unobstructed miraculous powers are naturally liberated? It is the key to the arising and use of unborn qualities. Sometimes look at the meaning of the nature of reality in meditative equipoise; who knows the spontaneously arisen great bliss, primordial purity? It is the key to transforming all dharmas into equality on the path. Sometimes look at the natural state of inner and outer awareness; who knows that samsara is free from grasping and holding? It is the root of the ultimate single
