Sana! How wondrous is the arising of the three kayas' wisdom! The six faults of those who practice Dharma are shown as follows: Lacking the eye of view that does not know distinctions; Lacking the friend of virtuous practice that is always needed; Lacking the guide to liberation, the spiritual friend without blind guidance; The crutch of hearing and thinking, which hinders, is broken; The unwanted afflictions are blessed by the demon of grasping and clinging; Falling into the abyss of samsara and the lower realms without liberation. All these beings with six faults, Although unbearable with compassion, tears flowing, However, the evil karma is not exhausted, lacking the means of righteousness. The six instructions for not going astray: Even if you cannot serve the Three Jewels, Do not accumulate sins, contemplate the fear of the lower realms; Even if you cannot have devotion to the supreme Lama, Do not slander, contemplate the faults of wrong views; Even if you cannot have affection for your Dharma brothers and sisters, Do not be jealous, contemplate the faults of breaking vows; Even if you cannot practice your own Dharma tradition according to the scriptures, Do not criticize Dharma practitioners, contemplate the faults of evil karma; Even if you cannot destroy the clinging to reality in illusory appearances, Do not cling to permanence, contemplate the changes inside and outside; Even if you cannot directly benefit others, Do not harm, contemplate the law of karma and dependent origination. If you listen, the six instructions of reason are: Look at the suffering of a slight interruption of activity; It is appropriate to suffer when virtuous practice is interrupted. Look at the suffering of the change of material happiness; It is appropriate to suffer the increase and decrease of experience. Look at the suffering of a day's food and drink being interrupted; It is appropriate to suffer when the four sessions of virtuous practice are interrupted. Look at the suffering of not subduing the enemy of this life; It is appropriate to suffer when the enemy of afflictions is lost. Look at the suffering of the death of a confused spouse; It is appropriate to suffer when the eternal friend is separated from the Dharma. Look at the suffering of a slight interruption of activity; It is appropriate to suffer when the leisure and endowment of Dharma practice are interrupted. If you think about the meaning of reason, it is very good. The six abandonments of proper accomplishment are: Abandon the worldly affairs of the swamp of samsara; Abandon the heavy burden of household, wife, and children; Abandon the childish games, the clinging to reality in illusory appearances; Abandon the deception and seduction, the enjoyment of desirable qualities; Abandon the noose of the demon, the respect of others; Abandon the ignorance of ancestors' ancestral spirits, the grasping and clinging. If you do that, you will be liberated from the place of samsara. Keep the six key points of instruction as a bond.

The instructions are: If you do not know that all encounters are liberation, you cannot stop the conceptual thoughts of appearances. If you do not know that seeing directly is direct liberation, you cannot cut off the root of dualistic grasping. If you do not know that experience is deeply clear, you will fall into the laziness of non-thought. If you do not understand that dualistic appearances are illusions, you cannot cut off clinging and attachment. If you do not know that life has no leisure, you will relax your efforts in virtuous deeds. If you do not master the skill of wisdom, you cannot avoid falling into the abyss of the six realms. Therefore, it is essential to learn these key points well. To bind the key points with six ultimates is: The ultimate of suffering is to abandon leadership over others. The ultimate of happiness is to do things in an orderly manner. The ultimate of ruin is to abandon unwholesome actions. The ultimate of contentment is to strive to do good. The ultimate of goodness is to leave the world behind. The ultimate of evil is to stop turning away from the Dharma. If you do this, it is the most excellent. To tame one's own mind with six abandonments is: Because impurity is excrement and urine, cut off craving for food. Because fame is an echo in the mountains, abandon worldly fame. Because illusion arises as an enemy, abandon the desire for attachment and aversion. Because the five poisons erect weapons, abandon the grasped and the grasper, and self-grasping. Because power causes the sacred Dharma to decline, abandon the idle talk of great people. Because evil increases and virtue decreases, abandon accumulating wealth and possessions. If you do this, practice will increase. The six dharmas for encountering the meaning of Dharma-nature are: Seeing directly, recognizing experience, awakening from the depths. Experiencing clinging naturally subsiding, appearances clearing without a trace. Worldly conceptual thoughts liberated, wisdom manifesting nakedly. Whoever possesses these six experiences Dharma-nature. The teachings on the six perceptions are: Divide the three times into impermanence, cultivate the perception of impermanence. Regard relatives and friends as guests, cultivate the perception of guests. Regard the place where you stay as a hotel, cultivate the perception of a hotel. Regard food, wealth, and enjoyment as playthings, cultivate the perception of playthings. Regard whatever you do as a dream, cultivate the perception of a dream. Wherever you go, near or far, cultivate the perception of death. If you possess these, you will be liberated from the state of samsara. The teachings on the six precious things are: Cherish your own experience of realizing the meaning of mind-nature. Cherish the wisdom of understanding, knowing the key points of the instructions. Cherish the key to solving difficulties, understanding the meaning of the tenets. Cherish the pure morality that can withstand armor. Cherish the stainless wisdom that cuts off illusions. Cherish the conduct of liberating from fixation.
