Hope is dashed. Hoping for realization without wisdom, hope is dashed. Hoping for signs of accomplishment for the lazy, hope is dashed. Hoping for a mind of benefiting others for the malicious, hope is dashed. Explaining the six stages of learning: The first entry is learning to write, read, and phonetics. The second is to uphold the precepts, listen to and contemplate the scriptures. The third is to enter the path, rely on the noble guru. The fourth is to listen to the pleasing, noble oral transmission. The fifth is to diligently practice, ultimately completing the goal. The sixth is to work for the benefit of others without feeling weary. These are the traditions of following noble beings. The six methods of nurturing fortunate disciples are: Knowing how to follow the wishes of those with faith. Knowing how to guide diligent ones to action and arranging the path for them. Not letting the learned drown in rhetoric, but guiding them to practice. Not teaching those who seek wealth to acquire merit, but guiding them to do good deeds. Not teaching those who accumulate wealth to hoard possessions, but teaching them contentment. Not participating in discussions of this life, but guiding them towards the Dharma. These are the skillful methods of a good spiritual friend. The six situations of abandoning mindfulness are: When lost in this life, abandon mindfulness. When distracted by laziness, abandon mindfulness. When mistakes or confusion arise, abandon mindfulness. When losing illusions or delusions, abandon mindfulness. When uttering indecent words, abandon mindfulness. When in an ordinary state, abandon mindfulness. The six actions of practitioners are: Calculating that life is short and quickly passing. Distinguishing between good and bad, adopting and abandoning large and small karmic results. Others' affairs are difficult to accomplish, do not lose one's own benefit. Knowledge is boundless, do not get lost in rhetoric. Do not fall into ignorance, foolish meditation, and confusion. Do not become arrogant because of desiring to be wise, virtuous, and good. The six things to think well about when wanting to practice are: Before this life passes, do not abandon the homeland. Before desire subsides, one cannot stay in solitude. Before sectarianism is resolved, one's own continuum is bound by Dharma. Before meditation arises, one cannot sit on the cushion. Separated from antidotes, one cannot overcome the causes of distraction. Holding asceticism as supreme, the antidote turns into poison. Therefore, it is very important to think well about these things. Showing well the six outer and inner signs: A wise person, whatever they create, they can complete. A realized person, whatever they say, they can repeat. A person with understanding, whatever it is, they can understand. Generating certainty, being able to endure hardship. Being integrated with the Dharma, one's own continuum is tamed. A person with wisdom obtains...

The ground will not be satisfied, and inner signs will manifest outwardly. The six dharmas for dissolving the knots of grasping and fixation are: When attachment and aversion arise, look at your own mind and dissolve them. When the five poisons arise, look at your own nature and dissolve them. When pain arises, meditate on great bliss and dissolve it. When discursive thoughts scatter, cut off their nature and dissolve them. When fatigue arises, relax and release, and dissolve it. When dullness and drowsiness occur, dissolve them with clear and sharp awareness. The six conditions that should be present in the practice of dharma are: Profound instructions must have introduction. Introduction must have the practice of the previous masters. Practice must have experience. Experience must have warmth and signs. Warmth and signs must have the fruit to be obtained. The fruit must have the activity of benefiting others. The path of separation deviates to a place of error. The six precious instructions that are taught are: Whatever virtuous activity you do, cherish not exceeding the session. Cherish the blending of the teachings and your own mind. Cherish that meditation can withstand obstacles and that your own mind is not disturbed. Cherish that the view is free from extremes and without bias. Cherish that the nature of reality is constant and without coming and going. Cherish that whatever appears, wisdom arises from skillful means. The six things to do for the true Dharma are: Turn away from attachment to the faults of samsara. Practice the skill of non-existence, and know it as illusion. Generate bodhichitta, and benefit others selflessly. Realize the state beyond mind, and distinguish samsara from nirvana. Whatever thoughts arise, let them self-liberate into wisdom. Let blessings self-ignite, and transform the appearance of others. The six dharmas for cutting off the pitfalls of meditation are: Do not let scattering and excitement go, abide in the meaning of non-elaboration. Do not fall into dullness, apply the sharpness of awareness. Do not fall into distraction, hold it with the glue of mindfulness. Do not fall into stupor, be endowed with the experience of bliss and clarity. Do not fall into hope and fear, abide in spontaneous luminosity. Do not fall into limitation, expand the mind and raise the level of meditation. If you do so, it is the supreme path without error. The six things that should not be present in those who have entered the path are: Unwavering faith without grasping and fixation. Weariness of samsara and avoidance of suffering. Vastness of learning and contemplation without seeking fame. Diligent practice without craving comfort. Altruistic intention without clinging to signs. Lofty view without arrogance. These are very precious and extremely rare. The practice of the profound essence.
