aspect. The three aspects of the three doors of liberation such as emptiness. Thus, those such as collecting things arise from listening and can be understood, so saying those aspects is in the manner of applying the name of the result to the cause. Also, at the time of listening to the Dharma, it should be understood that it is implied that one should possess those corresponding qualities. Not doing non-virtuous deeds such as killing is the aspect of not manifestly acting. Practicing virtuous deeds such as faith is the aspect of creating virtuous deeds. Seeing the truth or the blessings that benefit the bodhisattva's true words, etc., also arise from listening, so it is the aspect of blessing with truth. After observing karma and the result of karma, not wasting life is the aspect of not wasting life. Having intelligence that does not need to depend on others, not depending on others is the aspect of independence or the aspect of relying only on oneself. Not engaging in what is not to be done is the aspect of guarding one's own mind. Diligence is joy in manifestly creating virtuous deeds, and not abandoning it is doing it constantly and respectfully, so it is the aspect of not abandoning diligence. Determining the aggregates, elements, sources, etc., all pure dharmas with wisdom is the aspect of definitely thinking about the Dharma. After listening to the meaning of what has been said, thinking and meditating with reason, one can abandon afflictions, which is the aspect of the antidote to afflictions. These three are in the sutras and commentaries, but are not mentioned here. One's own side is the bodhisattva's side, that is, the pure dharmas and those belonging to its retinue, etc. Guarding is preventing those sides from being taken away by other opposing sides and not being controlled by afflictions, so it is the aspect of guarding one's own side. Subduing the other side, the aspect of demons, heretics, and afflictions, is to make them powerless and degraded. Faith, generosity, listening, shame, embarrassment, and wisdom, these seven noble riches gather in that listener, so it is the aspect of truly gathering or relying on the seven noble riches. The aspect. The noble wealth that is particularly superior to ordinary wealth merges into one's own continuum, thereby cutting off all poverty of qualities in one's own continuum, so it is the aspect of eliminating all poverty.

The wise who are well-versed in the fields of knowledge are the intelligent ones. They also praise listening to the Dharma, because it is the cause of abandoning all faults and obtaining supreme qualities, hence it is the aspect of being praised by the wise. The wise who think well, speak well, act well, and can distinguish between what to take and what to leave, also greatly admire listening to the Dharma, hence it is the aspect of the wise appearing joyful. The four noble ones also understand such Dharma meanings, or the noble ones are pleased with listening to the Dharma, hence it is the aspect of the noble ones knowing everything. With the wisdom of listening to the Dharma, even ordinary beings who are not noble can be made to believe in the Dharma, hence it is the aspect of non-noble ones believing. From the wisdom of listening to the Dharma, the seeing of the four noble truths arises, hence it is the aspect of seeing the truth. Abandoning the faults of the contaminated aggregates, such as birth, old age, etc., arises from listening to the Dharma, hence it is the aspect of abandoning the faults of the aggregates. By listening to the Dharma, one understands the faults of the phenomena of samsara, hence it is the aspect of fully measuring the faults of conditioned phenomena. The four reliances also arise from relying on listening to the Dharma, hence it is the aspect of relying on meaning, etc., these four. Those who possess listening to the Dharma do not commit non-virtuous deeds, hence it is the aspect of not doing all sins. Abandoning the non-virtue of oneself and others, and practicing virtue, hence it is the aspect of benefiting oneself and others. Listening to the Dharma itself is the nature of virtue, hence it is the aspect of well-done deeds. Having done well in this way, one abides without regret due to the causes of not having done well in the past, etc., this is the aspect of no regret, that is, after doing good, one feels happy and has no sorrow, thinking that it will be like this in the future as well. If the two are considered as one, then because of deep faith in cause and effect, one does not regret the good deeds done, and is happy to practice them again. Or it is obtained from seeing the special qualities, or from the stage of aspiring conduct and above, the grounds are suppressed layer by layer, thus the differences or special qualities of the qualities increase layer by layer, arising from listening to the Dharma, hence it is the aspect of progressing to the special. The Dharma of the Sugata, the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, etc., are obtained by relying on listening to the Dharma, there is no other way, hence it is the aspect of obtaining all the Buddha's Dharma. Thus. Chapter Twelve, Explanation of Philosophical Tenets, in this Great Treasury of Reasoning, one understands the essence of reasoning.
