There is no proof for actions, because they are the same as other statements. If things arise without a cause, they would always exist or not exist. If consciousness cannot recognize itself, it is impossible to experience clearly, and ultimately everything would become like darkness. Merely bathing and so on cannot eliminate obscurations, because they do not contradict non-dharmic causes. Actions such as war, born from attachment and aversion, cannot eliminate obscurations, because their essence is non-virtuous. Therefore, such a path is of no benefit for liberation. Some among the practitioners secretly say that they rely on scriptures such as the 'Wheel of Learning Mindfulness,' and mentally contemplate all outer and inner phenomena as the nature of a single self. That is, all that is above is the head of a male, all that is below is the feet of a male, the sky is the belly, the four directions are the arms, the sun and moon are the eyes, and so on. This great self has nine characteristics: its essence is sentient being, it has a body, it is pervasive, it is permanent, it is unique, it is the basis of arising and ceasing, it is not defiled by the faults and qualities of embodied beings, it is not an object of consciousness, and it is not merely expressed by speech. If the mind is placed in the state of this indestructible emptiness, the mind of dualistic grasping will disappear, and at the time of death, just as the space inside a broken pot merges into the great space, one will merge into this great self and be liberated. Such a view is like recreating the waves of one's own unreal conceptual ocean, the extremely difficult-to-transcend reservoir of samsara, which is truly amazing! If analyzed, it is worthy of ridicule. Because everything is not the nature of a single self, but appears as various things and is impermanent. If it were permanent, then the characteristic of being the basis of arising and ceasing would be unreasonable. The arrangements made by the mind with the names of the male body are also unreasonable due to the confusion of order and so on. Since there is no valid cognition to prove the existence of such an inconceivable self, it is merely a promise, and is refuted by such reasons. The fourth is the Naked Ones or Sky-Clad Ones, who follow the tradition of the Brahmin victors and consider texts such as the 'King's Treatise' to be reliable. They explain knowable things with seven categories of meaning.

That treatise says: austerity, discipline, affliction, bondage, liberation, animate, inanimate, these are the seven. Among them, austerity refers to relying on the five fires, walking naked, not eating, the austerity of begging, and plucking hair, etc. Discipline refers to the ten virtues, fearing to kill living beings, so they attach bells to their feet, not even drinking water without a giver, not speaking anything for fear of lying, etc. Affliction refers to the three poisons such as desire. Bondage refers to wandering in samsara. Liberation refers to obtaining liberation by exhausting all karma through the power of austerity. Moreover, they believe that at the time of liberation, they will transform into a shape like a white umbrella held above the three thousand worlds. Life is mind, that is, having life and body, having the four elements, and trees having the various senses such as ears. Conch shells, fish, fans, etc. have two bodies and tongues, and no other senses. Similarly, fireflies, ants, etc. have three bodies, tongues, and noses. Long-mouthed bees, etc. have everything except eyes. Humans, horses, etc. have all five senses, these are animate. Inanimate refers to sound, smell, taste, light, sky, shadow, rainbow, image, reflection, etc. In general, they believe that all objects of knowledge are different in place, time, and number, but have the same nature. Such a system, because it does not understand the true nature of things well, abandons the ultimate truth, so it is in the dense forest of existence, not the true path. Because austerity, etc. are not established in the ultimate sense, and in the conventional sense, they cannot exhaust karma and obtain liberation. If afflictions are not abandoned, karma cannot be abandoned. Life and mind are not one, because the knowledge of old and young does not gather at the same time, and when a person becomes a dog, it becomes one life, etc., these have faults. Trees, etc. have minds, but the appearance cannot be seen, so it is obscured. It is impossible for many things in place, time, and number to have the same nature, just like generality. If the self of bondage and liberation is permanent, then liberation is impossible, etc., so know that that system is meaningless. The fifth is the Jupiter school or the Lokayata, they follow the god Jupiter, relying on the essence of views and the six lineages of Jupiter, etc., believing that there is no past or future life. The annihilationists follow the sky, so that path
