Abridged Tenets of the Wish-Fulfilling Treasury Abridged Tenets of the Wish-Fulfilling Treasury Abridged Tenets of the Wish-Fulfilling Treasury. Homage. Homage to Guru Manjughosha. Here, a brief summary of the twelfth chapter of the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel Treasury, the Great Treasury of Tenet Categories. The objects of knowledge abide in two Purana Kashyapa asserts that there is no cause and effect, no Arhats, and no spontaneous birth in the past and future worlds. Ajita Kesakambalin asserts that there is no bondage and liberation, and that everything arises by its own nature. Pakudha Kaccayana, the son of Smraadevi, asserts that there is no result of virtue and vice, which is refuted below when the Puranas are refuted. Makkhali Gosala, the one with the hair garment, asserts that everything is done by time. Regarding this, by the reasoning of examining encounters, the true establishment of time is refuted. Even if there is time, if the path is not cultivated, all afflictions will not be pacified, so liberation by time is impossible. For great occasions, since there is a difference in transformation arising from the blessing of the Buddha and the devotion of the followers, it is different from that. Sanjaya Belatthiputta asserts that he does not accept anything, holding a view of evil deceit. Whatever is asked, such as whether the world exists or not, is permanent or impermanent, etc., he says that one should not prophesy according to what is asked, which is contradictory. For example, like a pillar, if it cannot be expressed as any one thing, it would follow that it is non-existent, similarly, not accepting anything is the same. Nigantha Nataputta asserts that everything arises from previous actions. Since he does not see present actions producing present results, he asserts that liberation is achieved by exhausting the power of past actions. Regarding this, are body, mind, and action the same or different? By whom was that action done, past, present, or future? Since the agent is the agent, there are four possibilities such as the agent, and examining whether the experiencer of maturation is permanent or impermanent, the self-establishment is refuted. In conventional terms, if only action is the cause, then for killing and giving alms, the action of that object is the cause, so it is unreasonable for the agent to ripen the result. Since actions are similar and only action is the cause, there is no obstacle for present actions to produce present results. Old actions are also not self-established, so they are refuted by reasons such as actions having no beginning. The twenty views of the perishable aggregates are

The five views that consider each of the aggregates, such as form, to be "I" are: If the self and the aggregates are one, it would lead to the faults of the self being impermanent and multiple, therefore it is refuted. "I exist in it, I arise from it, I control it," these fifteen views are refuted because they do not clearly distinguish the self from the aggregates. Among the sixty-two views, there are eighteen that rely on the prior extreme and forty-four that rely on the posterior extreme. The first is: Four assert that everything is permanent. Four assert that some things are annihilated. Four assert that the world has an end and no end. Four evade questions about gods. Two assert that there is no cause, totaling eighteen. Among these, the first four are that ancient meditators, seeing the continuous rebirths between thirty, sixty, and ninety kalpas, and from one family to another, thought that there was no end to the past and future, and therefore asserted that all worlds are permanent. Although the assertions are similar, they are divided into four because the teachers are different. The second four are those who believe that Great Brahma is permanent while other gods are impermanent, or that those who offend the gods are impermanent while other gods are permanent, or that the gods who delight in play are impermanent while others are permanent, or that the gods of the form realm are impermanent while the gods of the formless realm are permanent. The third four are those who say that the world has an end, has no end, has both an end and no end, or has neither an end nor no end. The fourth four are based on the vow that when disputes arose in some non-Buddhist places in the past, one should say that one evades questions about gods. Four people with little wisdom, not trained in philosophical systems, not certain even if they have studied, and with pride in their apparent realization, when asked what their view is, only answer that they evade questions about gods, and from this these four views arise. These people also, fearing that directly stating their philosophical system would not be established, thought that merely evading questions about gods would not cause too much debate, so they answered arbitrarily, and there is no other difference, but due to the four types of intelligence, they first arose and then divided into four. The theory of no cause has two types, relying on meditation and reasoning. The first is that some who have transferred from the realm of non-perception, when observing through meditation, did not realize the subtle alaya-consciousness of the realm of non-perception, nor did they realize the subtle particles that are the cause of the container, and therefore thought that the container and its contents arose without cause. The second is based on the sudden appearance of clouds in the sky, and therefore they assert that all worlds are causeless and arise suddenly. These
