Because both "non-existence" and "total affirmation" are deemed unsuitable, in the state of meditative equipoise, the measure is based on the state of being free from elaboration; in the post-meditation state, it is based on the appearance of differentiation. As clearly explained in the Treasury of Reasoning, the first is negation, and the second is affirmation, and this should be understood. Therefore, having explained the causal vehicle in the Great Vehicle, now the resultant Secret Mantra Vajra Vehicle will be explained. Initially, although there are many superior differences from the causal dharma, in brief, the causal vehicle believes that the essence of the Sugata-garbha is present as a seed, and that it develops from the two accumulations of conditions, and that after a long time, the result, Buddhahood, will be achieved, thus acknowledging the precedence of cause and effect. The Vajra Vehicle, on the other hand, considers the naturally luminous essence of mind, which is inherently endowed with qualities and exists like the sky, as the basis for purification. On top of this, the nature of samsara to be purified, including the eight consciousnesses and the objects of appearance, is like a cloud. By means of the purifying methods, namely the profound means of empowerment and generation-completion stages, which are like the wind, they are quickly dispelled. Thus, the result of purification, the basis of all things in reality, is manifested as Buddhahood, which is achieved in a short time, and in essence, it proclaims the doctrine of the inseparability of cause and effect. Therefore, although the goal of achieving Buddhahood is the same, the methods of achievement differ. In the characteristic vehicle, the appearance of samsara itself is the spontaneously pure mandala of countless deities, and there is confusion regarding the meaning of the great equality of inherent non-duality, and therefore there is attachment to acceptance and rejection. In mantra, because everything is known to be pure, equal, true, and non-dual, one can act without attachment to cause and effect, acceptance and rejection, and therefore there is no confusion in view. In the characteristic vehicle, one focuses on acceptance and rejection and cannot take everything as a support for the path. In mantra, because there are many forms of skillful means, it is very profound for achieving the result, and because of this, there is no difficulty in practicing the path, which is present in mantra but not in the characteristic vehicle. This profound path is intended only for individuals with sharp faculties, and therefore mantra is particularly superior. The actual meaning of the inseparability of cause and effect is most clear in Highest Yoga, and Great Perfection is effortless.

Although one has reached perfection in hearing and thinking, one also has the characteristic of not being confused about the Kriya Tantra in relation to the Sutras. The six classes of Tantras are also superior because the later ones are not confused in relation to the earlier ones. Therefore, the Sutra path is called the Vehicle of the Cause, because by practicing the path that becomes the cause of Buddhahood, the fruit is initially accomplished. In the Mantrayana, from now on, the path of the three Kayas of the fruit is used as the path through the door of becoming the supreme method, so it is said to be the Vehicle of the Fruit because the fruit itself is manifested in a short time. That particularly excellent secret mantra also has four kinds of Tantras with great qualities, namely, the four classes of Tantras, such as the Kriya Tantra, are taught in relation to the four castes, the order of faculties, and the magnitude of afflictions. Among them, the first Kriya Tantra mainly focuses on the effort of physical and verbal actions such as external bathing and cleansing, and is generally practiced everywhere. The wisdom deity is regarded as a lord, who bestows accomplishments; the self-vowed one is regarded as a servant, who receives accomplishments, and thus hopes to obtain temporary and ultimate accomplishments. Among the four aspects of view, meditation, conduct, and result, first, although all dharmas are equal in the ultimate truth as the nature of indivisibility of appearance and emptiness, truth and falsehood, in the conventional truth, the supreme deity with the wisdom body manifested as the nature of the sphere of clear light, which is the self-nature of exhausting all faults and perfecting all qualities, is the one who bestows temporary and ultimate accomplishments to oneself, like a lord; and oneself, who is to be blessed by it, is like a servant, because one has not perfected one's own benefit and has obscurations, so one needs to rely on the deity. Therefore, by the power of equality in the ultimate truth and the unfailing dependent origination in the conventional truth, one enters by holding the signs of the body, speech, and mind of that deity, thereby having the view of believing that one will surely accomplish various temporary activities and ultimately accomplish the nature of that deity. Second, in terms of meditation, such as what is known as the six deities of Kriya, in short, in a state of single-pointed concentration, one visualizes the hand gestures of the body, the syllables of speech, the implements of the mind, as well as the palace and the emanation of light, and practices with the essence mantra and stopping the breath, etc.
