Even untruth is acceptable, but it is unreasonable to say that consciousness is truly established. Just as an object appears in a delusion, so does consciousness, which possesses the object, appear. If analyzed, just as the object is not established, so too is the consciousness that possesses the object not established, and self-awareness is not established in the ultimate sense. If consciousness is established through its own experience, then the object is also established through experience. Just as the imputed is not established, so too are dependent arising minds and mental factors not found even when searched for. Just as the temporary consciousness, the seven collections, is not found when examined, so too is the alaya not existent, because if there are no diverse things on the basis of being established as the basis for the appearance of the seven collections and so on, then its basis does not exist, just like a forest that has been cleared of individual trees. Secondly, the school of the Madhyamaka Svatantrika, through the method of dividing all phenomena into two truths, thoroughly refutes the true establishment that exists in phenomena and the elaborations that do not exist in name, and in particular, it meticulously analyzes the appearances that appear by measuring with names. Even in this, there are two schools of thought, higher and lower, which have arisen, and these are also different from the true meaning of the nature of reality, because they mostly fall into the net of elaboration. Among these, in the lower Svatantrika, there are two: the establishment of illusion as reasoning and the difference between appearance and emptiness. The first, such as the teacher Ocean Cloud and others, believes that all phenomena are not established in their essence, and their illusory nature exists in both truths. The appearance of conventional truth is untrue, like an illusion, and the ultimate truth is emptiness, but the appearance of dependent arising does not cease. Therefore, by accumulating the two accumulations like an illusion, one obtains the result, enlightenment, like an illusion, and constantly abides in the nature of illusion, and through the activity of illusion, one benefits sentient beings who are like illusions. Therefore, all appearances that arise from the power of cause, condition, and dependent arising are like illusions. The illusory appearance is an illusion, and in the realm of appearance of the wisdom that is free from delusion, although elaboration is pacified, the appearance of clarity that does not cease is also like an illusion. In short, the basis, path, and result are all considered to be like illusions. Upon examining this, just like an illusion, there is production and destruction in the ultimate truth, and the illusion becomes an object that can be analyzed, etc., which does not go beyond the net of elaboration, and therefore is not the ultimate intention of the Buddha. Secondly, the teacher Glorious Hidden and others believe that in the ultimate truth, nothing

Because even "suchness" is not established, the term "illusion" has no specific reference. In conventional terminology, things like pots are not emptiness, because they appear to be functional and real. But when examined in ultimate truth, nothing is found, so it is emptiness. Therefore, ultimate truth is amenable to analysis, and conventional truth is not amenable to analysis. These two, as phenomena and the nature of phenomena, are not unified on a single basis. For if conventional truth were impermanent, then ultimate truth would also become impermanent; if ultimate truth had no arising or ceasing, then conventional truth would also become without arising or ceasing. Therefore, the appearing conventional truth as a phenomenon, and the empty ultimate truth as the nature of phenomena, are merely established in dependence on each other. Conventional truth can also be divided into correct and incorrect conventional truths, which is the same as the Svatantrika view. Upon examining this, an emptiness that is not an appearance is impossible in both truths, because if it does not appear to anyone, then its form is completely non-existent, and therefore it would also be non-existent in conventional truth, like a rabbit's horn. An appearance that is different from emptiness cannot be found either, because everything that appears cannot be established upon examination. If ultimate truth cannot be an object of appearance to be examined, then it cannot be an object of examination either, because if it is something to be measured by knowledge and expression, then a form must appear, and if there is no form, it cannot be realized. Freedom from elaboration is different from this, because it transcends the extremes of clinging to either appearance or emptiness. If the emptiness here must be regarded as separate from appearance, that is impossible. Meditating on an emptiness that is different from appearance is not the path, because it does not eliminate obscurations and is not appropriate in terms of what should be abandoned and what should be adopted. For example, when anger arises towards an enemy, merely knowing that the sky is empty does not help. The so-called emptiness cannot be found anywhere, because whatever direction or time is the object of knowledge, it is accompanied by the appearance of its form. Secondly, the Svatantrika view is that teachers like Yeshe Nyingpo, Shantarakshita, Kamalashila, and others, consider ultimate truth to be merely illusion and emptiness, because it cannot be examined by reasoning, so in the sense of ultimate reality, it is beyond all elaboration. However, in the temporary stage, things in conventional terminology each maintain their own characteristics and remain truthful and not deceptive. If examined with reason, it will be found that there is not the slightest bit of truly established emptiness or synonyms for ultimate truth, these two are equally established, therefore it is with commitment, and it is the way of establishing one's own system, and
