Because consciousness is blocked. By the path of the supreme Dharma and the virtuous, for those who do not depend on arising and ceasing and cessation, true arising and ceasing are not established, and in name, it is impossible for each entity not to depend on arising and ceasing, and it is also impossible to become other entities. All of those are simultaneously blocked, suffering and so on are sequentially apprehended in name, and momentariness and change are blocked. Now, the common nature is expressed as: The Hearer's path, whatever abides in discipline, hearing and thinking, the Dharma of a Shramana, etc., the path and liberation, because of common agreement, are truths to be refuted. In the Treasury of Knowledge, it says: Those who possess abiding in discipline, hearing, and thinking, should diligently apply themselves to meditation. In this way, first, having renounced in the gate that is shown, abiding in discipline, not scolding back when scolded, not being angry back when angry, not hitting back when hit, not revealing shortcomings back when shortcomings are revealed, these are the four Dharmas of a Shramana, and abiding in the twelve qualities of practice such as alms-begging, and the aggregates, elements, sources, dependent arising, path and non-path, etc., in order to know the object of acceptance and rejection, one should engage in hearing and thinking, and in assemblies and unions, etc., accomplishing liberation by meditating on the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, and knowing the measure of food, and striving in yoga without sleeping at night and dawn, and the antidote to desire, etc., the impure, and meditating on breathing in and out, etc., and the signs of renunciation, Dharma robes, and carrying a begging bowl and a staff, and having few desires and being content, etc., and the four truths, and meditating on dependent arising, etc., because of commonly acknowledging the tenets, it is not a refutation, because in reality it is the only thing to be pursued. However, if there is a true clinging to those pure liberations, then it is not merely refuting the object of the intellect that can be refuted, as Shantideva said: Here, it is not refuting appearance itself, but rather one should reverse the conception of truth as the cause of suffering. The twelve qualities of practice are, in the Compendium of Sutras, it says: Rag robes, dwelling in cemeteries, constantly begging for food, not accepting re-invitations, wearing felt, holding only three robes, dwelling under trees, eating only one meal, and dwelling wherever, and dwelling in charnel grounds.

Without concealment, monasteries and alms, the Muni possesses a peaceful mind, and these twelve practices were taught. The others have been taught before and will be explained later. Now, to classify in detail the tenets that all schools commonly accept and unanimously acknowledge: If all tenets are classified, there are two types: common and individual orders. There are seven common views, and by refuting the inferior views, one should understand them well here. The seven views commonly accepted by the Hearers and the detailed explanation of their individual natures are divided into two. The first has seven: the four true objects, the author is the ultimate truth, the Arhat is the ultimate, there is no Alaya consciousness, there is no Mahayana, there are no ten grounds, and the Buddha is self-existent. The first is: the four noble truths of suffering, origin, cessation, and path, which are the objects of what should be accepted and abandoned. The first suffering is: the aggregates of the result, that is, the birth of sentient beings and the two places of birth. Birth is: the cycle of the six realms of beings from one to another. The place is: the external container world, as mentioned before. Therefore, there are many kinds of suffering, such as birth, etc. Origin is: the part of the cause of suffering, that is, the two types of karma and afflictions. Afflictions are: desire, etc. Karma is: the two types of thought and intention, divided into three types: virtuous, non-virtuous, and neutral. Among them, thought is of body and speech, and intention is of mind, as it is believed. Non-virtuous are: the ten types of killing, etc., the five uninterrupted crimes of killing parents, etc., the five near crimes of killing Bodhisattvas, etc., and breaking precepts, etc. Virtuous are: the ten types of abstaining from killing, etc., and others. Neutral are: crafts, etc. Cessation is: the complete pacification of suffering and its cause, that is, with remainder and without remainder, and cessation with analysis and without analysis. The path is: by knowing suffering, abandoning origin, realizing cessation, and the way the path arises in the continuum, it is divided into five: the path of accumulation, the path of preparation, the path of seeing, the path of meditation, and the path of no more learning. As it is said in the Treasury of Knowledge: The truths are
