It cannot be directly ascertained, because without seeing the result, its capacity cannot be directly ascertained. One's own faculties, such as the arising of eye consciousness, are obscure at the time of arising. At the moment of arising, it is determined by the force of the object consciousness that grasps the meaning of the faculty and the self-awareness that focuses on the eye consciousness. The formations that do not possess arising and ceasing, etc., from the three of form, mind, and mental factors, are refuted by merely negating both that and other. It is a completely imputed one, like a rabbit's horn. Because there is no separate thing from these three, it has become merely a name. After the Hearers, Solitary Realizers, Arhats, and Buddhas pass away, the aggregates together with their seeds are like clouds clearing in the sky or ice melting in the ocean. Being inseparable from the cessation of the sphere of the realm of phenomena (Sanskrit: dharmadhātu), even a particle or a name is completely pacified, and there is nothing. Although it is like the Vaisheshika school, as many substances as are separated, so many substances are obtained, but it is not a substance-ist. This is what they believe. To refute that, there are seven aspects as in the previous position. To refute the four conditions, there are five: cause, immediately preceding condition, objective condition, dominant condition, and refutation of the mode of generation. First, the cause itself does not exist, because if the result is not established, its cause will not be established, so it is because they are mutually dependent, and because it prevents the ability, and because it is not a real cause, it is impossible to actually benefit. In the Four Hundred Verses, it says: When there is no result, on the cause, the cause itself does not exist. Therefore, all causes will become the result itself. It is said. The immediately preceding condition also does not exist, because the cause and effect do not meet. If the nature of the cause exists when the result arises, then the cause and effect will become simultaneous. If it does not exist, the cause ceases, and the result does not meet, so there will be an interval in between. In the Four Hundred Verses, it says: If the dharmas do not arise, then cessation is not reasonable. Therefore, the immediately preceding condition is not reasonable. If it ceases, what kind of condition is it? It is said. The objective condition is not established, because at the time when the object is also the cause, if the object consciousness is simultaneous, the cause and effect cannot be simultaneous, so it cannot be a condition. If they are not simultaneous, it is not seen when the object exists, so seeing will become inverted. In the Root Wisdom, it says: This existing dharma as an object is only non-existent.

It has been explained. If this dharma has no object, how can there be a subject? Thus it is said. There is no co-operative condition; if only particularity is produced, then the part without parts will also become the produced, and the essence will lose the cause of production and the distinction. The way of producing is not reasonable, because the arising and ceasing of consciousness will become different things from consciousness, because the appearance and non-appearance of the vase are contradictory. If it is admitted, then consciousness will become unconditioned and permanent, because it is not arising and ceasing. Appearance is mind, which is a refutation of true existence. The object cannot be hidden either, because the object to be measured will lose the distinction between manifest and hidden, and it is impossible to see the hidden vase, so there is no reason to establish it, because it blocks dust and does not appear, so the hidden vase is blocked in both conventional and ultimate truth, and it blocks similarity, because the vase exists in dust, and consciousness appears as a whole, so similarity is contradictory, so it does not exist, and what is seen will become inverted. It is also unreasonable to say that there is no space between dust, because if there is no separation even by the smallest part in the middle, then it is impossible not to touch, and if it is separated, then it is impossible to have no space, so it is just talk. The power of the senses is also not established because the senses themselves are blocked. Non-associated formations cannot be imputed either, because if impermanence is impossible in the knowable, then it will fall into the tenets of the Secret Sect, and because the vase is not impermanent, it is impossible to be destroyed by a hammer, and if the nature of mind does not have the nature of attainment, then even if Nirvana is attained, the mind will wander in samsara. Nirvana cannot be non-existent either, because the Buddha's work will not be completed, and if the defilements are not completely exhausted, then consciousness cannot cease. This tenet believes that what is seen as a vase is not a vase, but the dust of the vase. What is seen is mind, and everything like mountains is said to be the same, so it is not reasonable. In this way, although the mind appears as affliction, it is not affliction, and it is believed that the mind arises from co-operative conditions, and that the object-consciousness appears and does not appear in parts, all of which are blocked. Through all of these, the refutation of the views of the Hearers has been explained. Now it is The views of the Solitary Realizers and the way of refuting them: The Solitary Realizers
