In the Sutra of Questions by [Name], it says: 'Giving up ungiving generosity, there are none to receive. Those who have come here, are doing so to purify offerings. Who gives what to whom? How is generosity without attachment? With equal generosity, may all be completely good.' Just like that. Especially in conventional terms, refuting is like: meat given after killing is not suitable as Dharma, because although it seems virtuous, it is actually evil. Because the giver has no love and compassion, and is filled with the poison of desire and hope. In the Mindfulness Sutra, it says: 'Having killed sentient beings and then given alms, both will be born in the extremely hot hell.' Refuting burning: It is impossible to burn wood with fire. If fire and wood are the same, then the burner and the burned are not reasonable. If they are different, because they are mutually different, it is even more impossible to burn, like a pillar and a pot. The absence of contact between fire and wood is also the same as before. In the Root Wisdom Treatise, it says: 'If firewood is fire, then the agent and the action become one. If fire is different from wood, then it can burn even without wood.' Like this. There are three refutations of history: the essence, the hearing, and the refutation of contradictory content. The first point: History is impossible because what happened in the past has ceased and no longer exists. The second point: Hearing is also not possible, because the continuation of speech is without momentary parts, and the moment of mutual hearing cannot establish the heard, because it has no parts. The third point: All powerful beings, such as Ishvara, Vishnu, Brahma, etc., cannot establish the agent and the action, whether gross or subtle, by just one. Because it has no momentary parts, it cannot be established. There are three refutations of secrets: refuting profound meanings, refuting mantra recitation, and refuting with contradictory content. The first point: From the knowable as it appears, hidden profound meanings are unreasonable. Either no one can understand it, or it will be a fallacy of non-establishment. The Sutra says: 'Apart from form, there is no Prajnaparamita,' and so on. The second point: There is no recitation, because the meaning of recitation is to repeat the previous one, but when the present exists, the previous one has ceased and no longer exists, so it cannot be established to repeat the previous one. If it is said that the recitation is similar to the previous one, it is also unreasonable.

Or, all recitations are similar in sound, so that would also be a fault of repetition. If you accept that, then it is clear that one cannot utter all the sounds of one mantra at the same time. In mundane terms, all mantras not grasped by emptiness are of little meaning. The Guhyasamaja Tantra states: "If not grasped by emptiness as it is, even if one recites, meditates, and engages in secret mantras equal to the dust particles of the world, Buddhahood will not be attained." Third, since everything is shown to be without cause, even conditions are negated. To say that purification by bathing is a cause is contradictory, and therefore not established. If you say that teaching the Dharma is the same, it is not appropriate to act like you, engaging in effort like struggling in water, but rather, it is like the Dharma taught by the Buddha, and like teaching children to read, teaching in accordance with how much they can comprehend. Ultimately, it is to unite them with emptiness and compassion. The Sutra of the Great Nirvana states: "Just like grammar, and like teaching the model of letters, similarly, the Buddha teaches beings the Dharma to the extent that they can bear it." Therefore, the Buddha's teachings are most excellent because they show all meanings in a single word. The Samadhiraja Sutra states: "In the pure realms of the world, whatever Dharmas I have shown, the letters are different but the meaning is the same; all are selfless and suchness. By contemplating the meaning of one word, one will contemplate the meaning of all. By meditating on the meaning of one word, one will meditate on the meaning of all." There are three ways to refute similarity: refuting the same category, refuting the same lineage, and refuting contradictory classifications. First, the lotus-bearer and the garland-holding Brahmin cannot be of the same category, because the category itself has no parts, and many cannot be one. Second, the lineage of grandfathers and fathers and sons enumerated in order cannot pass from one to another, because continuity and momentariness are not established. The first Brahma lineage cannot continue, because the Brahma lineage itself is the same as the nature of Brahma, and therefore it is contradictory to transform into another lineage, and also because it is interrupted by many ancestors and so on in between. Nor is it the father's lineage, because of birth and death, the previous father and son and the current father and son
