Twelfth, Explanation of the Chapter on the Extensive Display of the Categories of Teachings to be Explained. Twelfth, Explanation of the Chapter on the Extensive Display of the Categories of Teachings to be Explained. Thus, after showing how to listen, the establishment of the actual meaning of listening is: the order just mentioned. Next, the teachings to be established are shown. All phenomena of existence, samsara and nirvana, are shown as inner and outer by the power of abandonment and adoption. That is, the word 'chos' (法) comes from the sound of Dharma (梵文天城体:धर्म,梵文罗马拟音:dharma,汉语字面意思:法), which means the basis to be known by the mind, and after knowing it, entering into abandonment and adoption, and after entering, closely attaining the desired meaning. Here, what should be abandoned after knowing is the worldly dharma, the cause and effect of samsara; what is shown to be practiced after knowing is the transcendental dharma, the cause and effect of nirvana, which are summarized into two. Among them, there are three aspects to the dharma that holds onto illusory appearances: the essence is the nature of being completely deluded by clinging to reality. The definition is that the essence is confused when the vessel is destroyed, and the worldly dharma is so called because it fulfills the manifest desires of each individual's mind. The divisions include ordinary children's worldly paths, gods, humans, asuras, hells, pretas, and animals who have not entered any philosophical system, and outsiders who have entered into wrong views. These are also as stated in the Eighty Illusions: 'Six destructions and six supports, knowing the six worldly realms, that is called the world.' And as stated in the Lamp Commentary: 'Worldly and transcendental, which is the best transcendental?' Also, as stated in the Secret Essence of Illusion: 'Non-understanding and wrong understanding, partial understanding, not understanding reality itself, the secret of taming intention, and the meanings of the secret of nature.' Thus, as stated from the tenets of the heretics to the unsurpassed inner tantra of Buddhism, here too, it will be established. Among them, although there are many classifications and summaries, according to the Root Tantra of the Wheel of Time: 'It also changes into two types, outsiders and insiders.' Based on this, the tenets of the heretics are classified, and the teachings of inner Buddhism are extensively explained.

Among the two, first, the outer heretical schools: There are six teachers, twenty aggregates of destruction, sixty-two wrong views, three hundred and sixty, eleven categories, and five Tarkas. These are the sects and divisions of the early teachers who deviated from the Buddhist path, claiming liberation but going astray. Although there are very many, they can be summarized as six teachers, views on aggregates of destruction, sixty-two wrong views, three hundred and sixty, eleven definite categories, and five Tarka schools that encompass everything, making a total of six categories. First, the six teachers are: Purana Kassapa, Makkhali Gosala, Ajita Kesakambali, Pakudha Kaccayana, Sanjaya Belatthiputta, and Nigantha Nataputta. Each of them is attached to their own views and constantly disparages others. The first, Purana Kassapa, the son of the protector of beings, believes that there is no past or future life, no cause and effect of actions, no Arhat, and no spontaneous birth, which will be refuted below. Makkhali Gosala, who wanders everywhere, says that both affliction and liberation have no cause or condition but arise naturally, which is the same as refuting the practitioner below, so it will not be elaborated here. Ajita Kesakambali, the son of the eloquent woman, believes that there is no good or evil, which will be refuted later in the section on Purana Kassapa. Pakudha Kaccayana, who wears hair clothes, believes that everything is done by time. As it says in the Ocean of Scriptures: 'Time ripens results, time makes one sleep and wake up, time gathers beings, it is difficult to transcend time.' In this way, whatever happiness or suffering arises for all sentient beings is due to the arrival of time. In the lineage of humans, gods, and animals, etc., connected by the power of time, that single lineage has no good or bad changes, and from its appearance, happiness and suffering arise. From the connection of existence, after eighty-four thousand kalpas have passed, whether a child or a wise person, all will be liberated by time. This is also unreasonable because time is not established by examining the meeting of past, future, and present moments. Even if time were established, if the path is not cultivated, the entanglements will not diminish, so it is impossible for time to be the definite cause of liberation.
