Moreover, many beings abandon their bodies in an instant. If you say that these cannot be established by reasoning, then merely claiming that the teachings free from the three contradictions are valid, or even just being uncertain, will refute your definite vow. This should also be understood elsewhere. Not being familiar with terms and the absence of a return are also not established, because there is uncertainty, such as forgetting due to the defilement of the womb, and also seeing instances where those with hands, etc., understand meanings by recalling past lives. The absence of cause and effect is also not established, because there is no obstruction to ripening in other lives, and some, like Vajra Girl, are seen to ripen here as well, and most sinners experience various sufferings, while holy individuals experience various happinesses, so it can be known. In one way, even just being uncertain leads to engaging in the acceptance and rejection of causes, like starting farming and taking jewels from the ocean. Liberation and omniscience are also attained here by some fortunate individuals, like the Buddha who speaks of being liberated. Obtaining them elsewhere is also not negated, because obtaining them here is also different from the former. The Four Hundred says: If by knowing it, even if one does not Sanskrit Romanization: niścita, Chinese literal meaning: certain) attain enlightenment here, in other lives one will Sanskrit Romanization: niścita, Chinese literal meaning: certainly) attain it effortlessly, like karma. Therefore, it is also unreasonable to say that there are no unseen beings, because it is impossible for all individuals not to have seen them in all places. The omniscient one sees them, and the inference that something does not exist because one has not personally seen it is not established, because one is not certain of it oneself. Inference is not valid because there is no proof and there is harm. The object of appearance is the general characteristic, so it is not considered valid, while the object of attachment is the specific characteristic, because it does not deceive by relying on the specific characteristic. If the son of Devadatta infers blue-green, then it is impossible to follow along with the similar and not turn away from the dissimilar, because there is no contradiction, so it is not a true sign. If one proves only the cause through the effect, if one grasps the details, even if one proves each cause, there will be no error. Merely being the same entity is not established as a reason, but there is no error in the pervader and the pervaded that are related by nature. Therefore, cause and pervader are

Because the result and the pervaded are contradictory. If you say that appearance is established as truly established by the measure of inference entering the power of things, that is not correct, because the smoke of fire itself is no different from the smoke of fire in a dream. The refutation is: if inference is not a measure, then the treatises become meaningless, entering and returning are unreasonable, and it will also become self-contradictory. The treatises you speak of are also meaningless, because the meaning desired by others cannot be understood by inference. Entering is unreasonable: if there is no inference, then eating is also unreasonable, because one will not think of being full and satisfied, and the shape of the fruit eaten before will not make one think of the taste and touch of the fruit of that tree later. Running to see the sunlight is also unreasonable, because one cannot infer warmth from color. The way of returning is that seeing water, fire, and cliffs will not make one jump, and seeing weapons, tigers, and waterfalls, etc., will not make one run away, because there is no inference to know that those are harms. Self-contradiction is: when saying that only inference is not a measure, because of saying "inference is not a measure," inference is implicitly admitted. If you say that even if inference is established, it is not established as a measure, then seeing that and that sign, the mind of trust arises, because it is equally established as a measure, so the debate is enough. In short, this view of emptiness is the worst of all views, as it is said in the Ratnavali: In short, those who view as non-existent, say that the result of karma does not exist, non-virtue falls into evil realms, it is called wrong view. In short, those who view as existent, say that the result of karma exists, virtue is the cause of good realms, it is called right view. And, if someone says that for Dharma it is not Dharma, and for non-Dharma it is said to be Dharma, hates the noble beings, falls into Avici hell with the view of emptiness. In this way, there is no benefit or harm from good and evil deeds, and the appearance is considered as mind, and gods and demons have no self-nature, all arbitrary slanders are also prevented. We are, only appearance, how it appears in name, we know as the interdependence of cause and effect.

Taking and abandoning in relation to karmic results, believing that beings in past and future lives, liberation, and omniscience are different from oneself, and believing that nature transcends the imputation of existence and non-existence. As it is said in the Ratnavali: 'The non-existent goes to bad destinies, the existent goes to good destinies, in order to fully understand as it is, one becomes liberated without relying on the two.' And as it is said in the Wisdom Illuminating: 'The very nature of dependent arising, is clear like a city of Gandharvas, it does not abide by various natures, nor is it like a flower in the sky.' Thus it is said. These include the refutation of the view of nihilism. In summary, the tenets of the outsiders have been definitively established. Twelfth, the commentary on the chapter extensively showing the categories of teachings to be explained.
