Because I am not widely known. Similarly, if all manifest things are compared to this, then summer and so on will not be established. Therefore, the universal nature of things like summer is merely a mental construct and is not actually established. What is not present in common appearance is: when it is daytime in this world, other places become night, and so on, which is simply not present in things. There are three refutations of difference: simultaneous, synchronous, and refutation of long and short durations. The first is: a pot and a blanket cannot exist simultaneously, because there is no pot and blanket that are different from that appearance, and the appearance does not even have a part, so it is impossible in time. The second is: a pot and a blanket cannot exist synchronously either, because the synchronicity of the pot depends on the blanket, and the synchronicity of the blanket depends on the pot, so they depend on each other, and eventually it will become self-dependent on itself, so nothing will be established, because time itself does not exist. If each manifest thing is analyzed separately, it will also be refuted because they are neither the same thing nor other things. The Root Wisdom Treatise says: If a thing is established by dependence, then it also depends on itself, if the dependent is established, then what does it depend on to be established? Like this. The third is: one day cannot be longer than one year, because if there is no creator day, then the year created by it does not exist, and a year is also a continuation of days, and a day is just a moment, so a year cannot be long. And a moment also has no parts, so it cannot be created, because things without parts cannot meet, so continuity is not established, because there is no connection, long and short are not established. From a moment to years, months, kalpas, etc., clinging to long and short is just ignorance. The refutation of constant time is: just as a mountain ceases to exist after the time of the mountain has passed, manifest things are the same as this, so there is no constant time, and there is no time without things, because impermanence is the opposite. The sutra also says: the past time is also empty by the past time. Like this. There are three refutations of constant direction: essence, difference, and refutation of permanence. There are three aspects to essence: dependence, substance, and non-existence in common appearance. The refutation of dependence is: this Saha world is the east of Sukhavati, if it is considered the west of Abhirati, if it is only the east, then Abhirati

Because attachment to joy is also the reason for the east. Therefore, the ten directions are also non-existent in the objects fabricated by deluded minds. As stated in the Root Wisdom: "Whatever is established in dependence, if that is not established, how can it depend? If it is established and then depends, then it is not dependent." Just like that. Substance is not established, because the Saha world itself is not absolutely established in the east and so on, and is therefore excluded. Non-existence in common appearance is because it appears as east to the people of Jambudvipa, appears as west to those who dislike sound, appears as below to those who fly above, appears as above to those who stand upright, and appears as horizontal to those who are lazy. There are three refutations of distinctions: the ten directions, the four intermediate directions, and the non-establishment of good and bad directions. First, the east of the ten directions is one, and if it is universally present, then the east cannot be one, because mountains, stones, trees, and other numerous things exist without distinction. Moreover, the east itself will change from other places to the west, so it cannot be determined as one. The intermediate directions are not established, such as the northeast, are the east and north connected or not connected? If connected, there is no meaning of intermediate direction, so the intermediate direction is not established. If not connected, is there a gap between the intermediate direction and the east and north, or is there no gap? If there is a gap, then there will be other intermediate directions there. If there is no gap, it will become one. The good and bad directions are not established, if it is a bad direction in the east, then it cannot be non-existent in the west, because the entire Saha world is the west of Sukhavati, and it is also the east of Sukhavati. Relying on one's own position, such as the east of that position being bad, this is also not established, because in the concept of particles and time, both oneself and the east are not established. Moreover, is that bad direction bad for all people, or is it bad for someone? If it is like the first case, because it is the east of Sukhavati, so it is good, then it will also become good here. If it is like the second case, even after many years, bad things will not happen. If you understand it this way, there is no bad direction, because you know it has no basis. As the Prajnaparamita Sutra says: The realm of the east is empty, the realm of the east is empty, and so on. The permanence of direction is not established, because when things are destroyed or positions change, their east and so on will also change from the previous state. Moreover, for purely non-existent things, because there is no autonomous ability, there is no basis for establishing directions. Space is not established
