Arising. The qualities are: eight such as subtlety, hands and feet, eyes and face, and bodies, doing many things and destroying, therefore it is called subtle. In the sky, wind and earth, as well as water and fire, abide, gather and increase, therefore it is called light. Having power over all that arises, abiding and walking, doing whatever one wants, therefore it is called becoming the master. Relying on oneself, having autonomy, not fearing anyone, because everything becomes his power, therefore it is called becoming powerful. Places and food, as well as actions, and whatever else is thought of in the mind, following the mind without stopping, therefore it is called going anywhere. Being an object of offering in the three realms, because all beings offer, therefore it is the object of offering. Courage, dust, and darkness, these three, wherever they abide, can be done merely by opening the eyes, therefore it is called possessing all desires. Liberation or the body of a god, wherever one wants to be, everything can be obtained through desire, therefore it is called abiding in joy. Thus it is. The reason for establishing it is: these vessel and content worlds are made by Maheśvara, because things like camphor trees have a certain size, because things like thorns are sharp and certain, because things like the seasons of winter and summer are certain, abiding and entering, because things like givers being poor are different in doing and experiencing. If karmic results are true, then virtuous people with short lives should not kill living beings first, because they have compassion. It is reasonable for us, because they do not kill living beings, although they have compassion, but because they turn their backs on Maheśvara, they have short lives. Whoever is attached has wealth, others harm virtuous people, rejoicing in seeing those who are not righteous, it is clear that the god Maheśvara exists. Qualities include wealth and short life, those who act badly have long life, seeing givers being poor, it is clear that it is made by Maheśvara. Thus it is. Obtaining a good rebirth by worshiping Maheśvara is: if beings do not do other virtuous deeds, but only offer well to Maheśvara with the blood and flesh of slaughtered livestock, they can obtain the fruit of gods and humans.

That is obtainable. Beings do not understand this self-nature; happiness and suffering are not under one's own control, but are arranged by the Isvara, going to the heavens or falling into evil destinies. Thus it is said. All that is knowable are the six meanings of words, namely: substance (dravya), quality (guna), action (karma), generality (sāmānya), particularity (viśeṣa), and inherence (samavāya). Thus it is said. Explaining them separately: Substance is of two kinds, namely: permanent and impermanent. Permanent substances are five, namely: self (ātman), time (kāla), atom (paramāṇu), direction (dik), and space (ākāśa). Among these, the self is that which has consciousness, is the essence of matter. From knowing the place where the self resides, the thought "I know" arises, just as the eyes rely on seeing things to know that they see. Furthermore, the self is also one's own self here, possessing qualities such as desire and hatred, being the support, the all-pervading, the enjoyer, and the self is considered to be the essence of matter. Thus it is said. Therefore, although the self is permanent, the mind changes and performs the function of qualities, so it is believed that the self will not perish or become non-existent. Time is that which pervades all states of past, future, and present, is unborn, permanent, and exists as a substance. Atoms are the smallest particles of earth, water, fire, and wind, possessing four qualities of smell, taste, color, and touch respectively, up to one quality. These atoms are permanent and gather without touching each other, thus beginning to act. Ultimately, even if all things are burned by fire or shattered by a hammer, only the atoms can be scattered, but they cannot be destroyed. Even when the world is destroyed, these atoms will remain floating in the sky. At the time of creation, the Isvara gathers those of the same kind, thus producing substances with limbs such as the body. Direction pervades all parts such as the east, is unborn, permanent, without action, and exists as a substance. Space has five qualities, namely: pervasiveness, permanence, ability to reveal, production of sound, and being a substance. Among these, the first three qualities are mostly accepted. Impermanent are the four limbs of earth, water, fire, and wind, thus there are nine in total. Qualities are twenty-four, namely: number, quantity, conjunction, disjunction, otherness, non-otherness, these six, and thirteen that appear in the self, namely: eye-consciousness, ear-consciousness, nose-consciousness, tongue-consciousness, body-consciousness, pleasure, and pain.
